Car vandalism

Hi Not sure if the people have had issues with our cars having issues with vandalism. Is our cars more of a target than others? Also are bright flashy colours more likely to get keyed etc than neutral earth colours?

I drove my 2015 GT to the movies one night back when I first got the car a few years ago. When I came back out there was a 6 inch crack in my windshield. I don't remember a rock hitting the windshield at any time so I assume that it was vandalism that caused it. I haven't had any other incidents. Not even a door ding.

I ask because I have had so many cars other than a Mustang but this is the second mustang I have had where there has been a scratch. I dont bother anyone I park far away etc. Is there a way to prevent this? would Xpel or ppf help if you get the whole car done? Paint protection film?

It doesn't take much to trigger a hater. Stay away from YouTube where you'll find thousands of vids of jerks damaging all manner of cars for little to no reason at all. Ask me how I know this!

And parking far away doesn't always help. So many times I've left dozens of empty spots between my car and the entrance and returned to find someone parked right next to me.

Haven't experienced vandalism but I do get the ricer crowd with 100hp Honda shit boxes throwing up a middle finger or giving me a thumbs down. Pointing and Laughing at them really pisses them off. Lol

If someone intentionally damages something of another persons, the judgement / law should be you get to damage something of theirs. Doesn't matter what it is, if they own it it's fair game. Including their face. This unfortunately would never fly in any normal society although we have laws which are even more stupid than my proposed law lol.

The problem is the law won't really do anything to them and they know this so there's no deterrent. Or it's just teenagers who don't give a fuck and there's no deterrent in the world that will stop them. Dont start road rage and don't feed others if they start. It's normally these people that will follow you and then come back to fuck your car up.

Other stuff is just random acts of idiots, and like someone already said if they want to damage your car they will.

You know, I actually gave this topic some thought when I decided on a Bullitt.

It's occurred to me I'd be pretty cut up if my Orange Fury GT got a door dent, or a decent scratch.....but a dark green Bullitt with a few war wounds is actually more authentic

When I had my 2008 Bullitt I made a trip to one of the big box hardware stores and parked way far out all by myself. Came out to find a mini-van parked so close on the driver's side that I had to crawl thru the passenger side to get behind the wheel. Unfortunately for the driver of the mini-van I had gone in to pick up a new framing hammer.. with nice shiny claws on the back of its head. That as they say will leave a mark.

When you park way off all by yourself, you're calling for attention. I try to park more on the outskirts of the crowd, where I have a couple spaces between me and the other cars, but not all alone.
