Car show cleaning advice needed.

Hi, all! I entered my Mustang in the "Ponies in the Ozarks" show at the Lake Of The Ozarks on memorial day weekend... One thing I'm trying to figure out is once I get to the show, what's the best way to remove the bugs from the bumper and hood of my car? At home, I use Prowax bug remover, then wash. I won't have the luxury to wash it when I get to the event. Kinda curious on how y'all handle that!

Painters tape and Saran Wrap it….. get to the show, peel it off then use your choice of spray detailer, done.

Painters tape and Saran Wrap it….. get to the show, peel it off then use your choice of spray detailer, done.

Maybe I will see you there. Showing both of our cars that weekend. I will be running my car, the coupe, on the track Saturday and Sunday.

Harbor Freight has a portable power washer that is battery operated. I run the mesh bras on the cars for the travel. Then it is just clean and more cleaning. I will be coming from Olathe, KS.

Back in the day when I used to attend Carlisle events, my friends and myself would just bring all our car wash and detail things with us. Luckily there were a couple self wash bays within a 5 to 20 mile radius. So we would spend a couple hours there washing and detailing all our vehicles.

Sucks hauling things with you, but it did the job. Then at the show we would just finish detailing everything quickly.

I did the same driving from FL to NY. Stopped every 5 hrs and just hosed everything down and did some quick detailing to make sure nothing nasty would stay around. That was until a rock jumped up and hit my window/roof.

If you do a proper wash, clay bar, polish & ceramic coating a few days before the event you will be able to clean it off onsite with little to no effort. Hybrid Solutions ceramic coating is easy to apply and works wonders!
