After driving about 20 miles and pulled into a parking spot a car was backing up and i gave it some gas to avoid it backing up into me. I noticed the rev was slow to increase so i park my car and put it in neutral, tried to rev it high, and the RPMs slowly increase.. i then tried to redline it and it literally slowly creeped up to 3.8k RPMs. I didnt want to keep redlining it because it was a packed parking lot full of people anyone else have this issue?

Motor oil was warm, figured there would be a failsafe limiter before the motor is fully warmed but i drove it for 20 miles.

No codes.
Tried same thing in first gear.
2800 miles on motor.

Is it an auto?

I have seen a few auto cars when not in motion can't rev past a certain 3-4k range.

Does wet/snow mode have a limit on RPM's? I never noticed that. I use it pretty often in the rain and I can still get on it. The main difference I notice is just the throttle sensitivity.

As a side note, I will say that while I really like having the 4 drive modes, having them each change the throttle input/sensitivity on a manual car is a bit of a PITA. It's like you have to relearn your clutch/gas interaction.

Well yea, it limits how wide the throttle body opens so the engine feels like hard to rev.

Your car must be an automatic.

when you're in park/neutral you cant crank it like a manual to the limiter. Its part of the design.

Pretty sure mine cranks all the way up. I've never noticed it cutting off early.
