Canadian Embargo?

Just wondering if anyone has heard of a Canadian embargo? My car has been built since September 19th, and any other Canadian VINs I look up were either built around the same date or even earlier. All of them have been 'awaiting shipment' ever since. I asked Ford Customer Service on here and was only told they're awaiting an ETA. I contacted Ford Canada Customer Service and was told the same, however they added "the Mustang hasn't been officially released in Canada yet, so it's a waiting game". I thought that was interesting as I didn't know there needed to be an 'official release'.

My current lease is over on October 31 and so I've been a bit panicky. They did assure me a bit by saying "not to worry as that's still a few weeks away and things will fall in place".

Just wondering if any fellow Canucks heard anything along the same or know any differently?

There's no embargo. The first stock model has been delivered and sold (Richmond Hill Ont).
Some of the stock units have been stuck, there's a lot of complaints by people who have been waiting on delivery for a while. It's most likely a backlog of QA checks.
It's definitely been released in Canada so not sure why that comment.

There are dealers in Toronto that already have 2015s. So the Mustang has been released in Canada.

I've had mine since Monday so I don't think there is an embargo in place. Mine showed in transit for almost 2 weeks and then all of a sudden my dealer called me and said it arrived.

Awesome, so now I'm not even getting the truth. It's not like I'm far from there either, my dealer is in Cambridge which is an hour from Toronto

This is killing me..ordered June 3rd and nothing. So many Canadians getting to drive before the winter, lucky fellows!

I ordered in June too, but I think my dealer put mine as a stock order. They said if it was a retail order I wouldn't even have a VIN yet

Just makes me sad knowing it's been built and sitting in a lot at the factory for almost a month just waiting for a north bound truck.

I ordered in may and as far as i know i still dont have a vin. Hopefully that changes this week. If not this new mustang may be a very nice christmas present to myself haha. Thats good news that dealers in Toronto have some already.

Ordered in June as dealer stock. No vin yet, however my dealer is expecting their first GT model on November 3rd. I'm hoping most of us will get our vin on October 16th when the scheduling resumes. (Fingers crossed!)

I ordered my 50th LE in April, officially put through on May 20th.
I have no updates on LEs at all coming to Canada , Ford values Mexico more as they seem to have priority on LEs lol!!. In Montreal the Mustangs have already showed up, only a handful here and there but are very very slowly trickling in.

My dealer in Laval (Montreal area) received the first one last week. I have a vin for mine.

Well my whining must have worked. She shipped out yesterday. Now to wait 'patiently' for it to arrive at the dealership!

Yeah looks like stock was the way to go. I sadly had no idea about stock or retail when I ordered and its too late to worry about it now. Let us know how it goes!

I didn't realize they ordered mine as stock until later on. They told me later they ordered mine as retail and the exact same for stock too, letting me take whatever comes first. The retail order still doesn't even have a VIN yet.
