Okay, today I went to the Phoenix international auto show. Obviously not one of the good ones but it was fun.

I was lucky enough to be able to sit in both a Mustang GT and a Camaro SS. One of the things I can say without a doubt is that the Camaro had a very nice shifter and clutch, it was a pleasure compared to the Mt 82. Also I must give props to be frameless rear view mirror on the Camaro as that was a very nice touch. However that is where the true advantages are as I did not get to test drive either call her I can't comment on performance.

The Mustang ruled in several categories. The visibility in the Mustang was amazing compared to the Camaro and just as good as I remember from my previous Mustang. The ergonomics in the Mustang is worlds and above the Camaro. I love how I can hang my arm out in the Mustang as that is how I drive. The Camaro was amazingly uncomfortable to sit in where the Mustang was a pleasure even compared to my Hellcat. I am not a small guy and was surprised on how comfortable the GT was. The blind spots in the Camaro were horrible. The rear view in the Camaro was absolutely terrible as the slope of the rear window made it so there was about 6 inches of room to look through. The overall interior design of Camaro downright sucked. While I'm sure the Mustang loses in the performance category it more than makes up for that in the Ergonomics and comfortability category.

I am not going to lie, i really wanted to love the Camaro because of the performance benefits. I wanted to fall in love and just say that the cons are not that bad and totally no nig deal. However I did not get that luxury. The cons of the Camaro were just that bad. When I decide to buy my next car, while the performance of the Camaro is tempting, it is not enough to make up for how uncomfortable horrible the visibility is inside that vehicle. At this time the Mustang totally has my vote as the more well rounded performance automobile.

I still reserve my right to a final opinion until I test drive both vehicles but as of right now I can say proudly that I am happy the Mustang still wins my heart. Perhaps when I drive both that could change but at this time I am a Mustang fanatic proud and true.

PS, 707 horsepower for 65 Grand was too much of a bargain to pass up so please don't hate me for owning a Hellcat. At 9 mpg the Hellcat is not a practical daily driver. It's just a toy.

I recently drive both gtpp vs 2ss. I really liked the "bunker" feeling in the camero... At first. The mustang def had more comfortable seating.

I didn't have an issue with either transmission, however the spring on the gt about caused me to give whiplash to me and the wife.

Both had, I thought, good tight steering.

The camero pulls harder down low and the mustang comes on later but pulled to the very end.

Unless something drastic happens, I plan to have a new gtpp with sc in my driveway by March. The cost to power ratio will be in the gt's court... Still costing the same as the camero. It doesn't hurt that my father-in-law works for Ford.

This coming from a new, newbie pov. I've owned 3 mustang and 1 camero in the past... But they are different animals now.

When the cruise nights were still going on in a nearby area where I grew up (getting too cold, now), there is a guy that I somewhat got to know who has a new Camaro. He had quite a few questions about mine, sat in mine, and I sat in his. I felt the same way, visibility wasn't the greatest in his, the layout in the interior wasn't that appealing, but he had no issues in mine. Now, we only sat in each other's for a little bit, so it wasn't a true in-depth comparison. But, the performance you get with them off the show room floor is quite impressive. Let's face it, it's a kick a** car performance-wise. I just can't catch on to the looks of it, or the price. Although from what I hear, the dealerships are swinging some pretty hefty deals to get them in your driveway. I'm not hatin' on GM or the Camaro, here. I owned more GM cars than I did Fords, and I hang with more GM guys than Ford guys.

I've looked @ the Camaro for over 12 months now and the roof line towards the quarter panel is just not my thing. They are discounting 17 mustang for $5K. So the Camaro is still not in the ball park with their discounts. I'm glad the 18 GT is getting dual mode exhaust , mag ride and some power packs. That will put it both price and performance on the same plane. But no matter what it still can't match the mustang looks.

Mustang rules pouring lots of horse power into a POS doesn't change the fact it's a POS and a overpriced POS at that. :ford:

Camaro is a POS? Um, OK. For the 99% of the people that buy a new car and don't want to void their warranty, the SS will mop the floor with any sub GT350 Mustang in handling or acceleration. Some of this Mustang fanboism is just getting old.

I love how you "think" the Camaro "mops the floor" really? Where in a magazine? Go to Norwalk and watch some of the new camaros get beat by a bone stock 2016 GT A6. You gotta know how to drive before you can win and run your mouth. (I don't mean your mouth)

What's getting old is this a Mustang form there's to many c6g a**holes here creaming all over themselves trying to convince everyone junkmaro is a super car. I hope MY 18 Mustang puts the nail in camaros coffin and greedy motors kills it again.

Do the challengers still come with a hard drive you can upload music into? And although I don't need the interior room, nothing beats the interior room on the challys.

"forum" and "too" many.

Not all C6 owners are on a persuasion crusade. Some of us are here to observe and learn so we are more informed when making our next purchase.

Not any ore.
You can load a sim card or plug in your mobile device, but you can no longer upload to the hard drive.

To the op; 9 mpg?
You must be hammering it fromstop light to stop light.
I average 14 in the city in mine; A8 set in track mode, and I drive semi aggressively.

I recently faced the same dilemma Camaro vs Mustang.
I had recently sold my '14 GT500 and was considering retiring my modded 2010 Camaro.
The power is definitely there on the Camaro, as well as the handling.
However I still can't get on board with the front end, nor the Camry tail lights.
I expected much more from the interior as well.
The GT Premium with PP impressed me much more, and power wasn't that far off. I have also finally warmed up to the S550 body style.

The final kicker was the price difference; Around here most Chevy dealers aren't taking much off, if any.
My GT stickered at $41k and without a lot of effort I paid $37k OTD for my 2017, and I love the car!
