I am in the market to purchase a 2020 GT with no options just 6spd base. Are there any difference in performance vs the pp1 or pp2? I know the base only comes with 4P caliper and different rear diff, no mag suspension, but since I am going to replace all those anyways is there any other things to consider? I will be going coilovers, swaybar, 6P brakes, aftermarket exhaust, my old focal speakers and recaro SR6. I've had a 6spd 6G Camaro 2ss and all the options I got was useless to me especially not able to upgrade my sound system.

Thanks in advance

There is more to the PP cars than just some springs and sways and the 6P Brembos. I have a Base 300a car with PP1. If you get a non PP car make sure you don't get a 3.15:1 rearend. You can't switch out the gears due to that gear.

youll want the performance pack k braces as well. that arguably should be the first thing you change

performance pack radiator is different, as is the front splitter and the spoiler. If you are going to be changing everything on your own, its not a huge deal.

gear ratios are different too. if you plan on supercharging eventually, 3.15 is probably fine. otherwise you might want a different ratio.

Thanks for your response. The gear ratio I will really have to drive it on the track to see how I like it. I've driven my cousin's PP2 on the track serval times and I really like the car. The taller ration usually don't bother me as much. The K brace is the one under the tranny? That should be just something available aftermarket or getting the part from ford? Same with the Rad? Mishimoto should have oversize aluminum ones I can use or OEM ?

here you go.

id go with mishimoto or fluidlyne over the OEM if you change out your radiator.

BMR makes a doozy of a K-brace. If the car is track bound as it seems it is, forget the $5k upcharge for PP1 and use the money to buy the necessary chassis bits and PROPER cooling - see @tj@steeda offerings. 6-pot brembos "new" (technically 200 miles) are on ebay with regularity and 1/2 the price you'd otherwise pay.

What coilovers were you considering? Please don't say the $1200/set crap.

Depends what you want the car for. PP1 is the perfect compromise between street manners and good handling. It's stiff, but not overly so. If you go PP2, streetability goes out the window, with those giant cup tires (that look like crap sticking out, by the way) roaring inside the cabin, and overly stiff suspension. Even if you change the tires (mandatory if used on the streets), it'd still be loud as hell inside the cabin. Unless you want the car as a track rat, you'd probably be better off with PP1, but depends on what you want. Good luck.

i drove a pp2 before getting my PP1 car, in normal mode it felt exactly the same as far as ride quality as my car. On track mode it was pretty rough, but you wouldn’t be driving out in track mode everyday. You do know the pp2 comes standard with magneride, right?

the cup 2 tires aren’t ideal on the street, I’ll give you that.

Yup :). Mine does too, and PP2 felt quite stiffer by comparison. And others have said the same thing; you're the first to say it rides the same. Even mine is borderline stiff on normal mode, and tires at 32psi cold, but still acceptable. Wish there was a 'comfort' mode, especially for my wife, but at least it's acceptable. Maybe you don't mind a stiff ride, but some of us 50+ guys do. He he.

Thanks. Fluidyne seems to be a good option.

I am not really sure who makes coilovers for the s550, but tein, ohlin, KW, bilstein ?

it is stiffer, but doesn’t don’t equate to not streetable. The car I drove in normal was more composed going over wash board roads. My car almost feels loose with its non-magneride suspension going over the same road.

I know it comes with I don't really carefor that's one of the reason I dont want to opt for the pp2. I prefer coilover over the magride even with a DSC.

then you need the GOOD coilovers which are well north of 3 grand (Ohlins) and more like 5 (JRI, MSR etc).
Seems you haven't read any of the Suspension section? I suggest you curl up on the couch and spend the next 10 hours reading.
