Well, the altima weighs quite a bit less. Driving a lighter car even with less power is often times more fun than driving a heavy car regardless of power. I think given the mustangs weight the v8 is almost required.

Right now it's not looking so good for mods.. Plus I dont like the aftermarket sound of the 3.7!

It's still so much of a hassle, this might be just because I live in CA where traffic is almost anywhere. The only thing I'm thinking is if maybe an auto will be better for me?

There may be something to this. Prior to moving to the traffic hell that is Silicon Valley, I owned several cars with manual transmissions and usually enjoyed them very much. Then I moved to San Jose, bought an '11 GT, and soon loathed the thought of driving it. Rowing gears in an endless sea of bumper to bupper vehicles became so tedious to me that I couldn't enjoy the car. It didn't matter how nice it looked or how much power it had.

Anyway, YMMV of course, but I definitely know what it's like to feel kinda blah about a new car. I ended up sticking it out for a couple years then getting a '13 with an auto. Problem solved. I hope you can find a way to solve yours. :cheers:

I just dread having to drive it, worry about hitting traffic, performance is a let down I expected more, even though it's not the coyote. Also to add in, clutch engagement is very high. I just don't get that new car feel. I've even thought about starting to drive my Altima sometimes to work.

try removing the clutch assist spring.

Sounds like an auto would of been a better choice for you. Maybe wait till end of year(2015) and do a trade in for an EB or GT auto. Also take an extended test drive to help ensure it's what you really want. Sucks to have a new Mustang and it not really doing it for ya, especially if your making payments!!

I've only had mine for a little over two weeks but as a fellow V6 manual owner, this being my first M/T vehicle, I experienced doubts for a few days there regarding whether I made the right choice choosing the stick over the auto, especially after experiencing stop and go downtown traffic. I believe this is normal. The car, too, didn't feel as fast as my 2011 V6. Now though, I'm growing more and more confident on the choice of the M/T and traffic doesn't really bother me as much. I'm also getting better at driving it which makes it seem a heck of a lot faster and fun.

I'd stick with the car for as long as I could. I think it'll grow on you.

I have a V6 in m 2012 Mustang, and I believe the Cyclone engine takes more time to properly break in. I remember the car feeling a LOT more powerful around 10k miles, as absurd as that sounds.

As far as the clutch goes, it sounds like you should try removing the clutch assist spring before giving up.

I personally thought the auto in the V6 felt lazy. I'm sure that could be fixed with a tune.

You are clearly not satisfied with your purchase, you've stated that you'd take the 4/5 grand hit on the return...

The mustang clearly isn't the car for you. No harm, no foul.

You'll never like / want something that others persuade you to like.
No point in driving it 'until' you like it.

Take it back with low miles, are you still inside the "cooling off period"

My 2011 V6 MT was a blast to drive. However, there is some possibility that the new ones MAY not be as fun to drive since they de-tuned the V6 at least a little for the 2015 model year. If I had wanted a 6 this time, I would have been ticked about the drop in HP from the 305 in 2011

I feel your pain, brother! I have had buyer's remorse in the past, with two different cars for different reasons. I suggest sticking it out for about a year or so, to give yourself a chance to get used to it. You have already taken the biggest depreciation hit, so no need to rush into a decision for financial reasons. You also don't want to get "seller's remorse"; the feeling that you didn't give it enough of a chance to grow on you.

If after a year you still feel the same way, get something else and try not to think about the money you lost...life is too short to drive a car you hate! I just traded my 2014 Mazda6 after being annoyed with its puny 184 hp engine (geez, what was I thinking???) for 10 months & 13,000 miles. I gave it a good chance, I still didn't like it, so I didn't think twice about dumping it.
