So my Uncle (whom works at a ford dealership and I'm buying my GT through) gave me an update from a Ford rep in Detroit about my car, and assuming others as well. Here's verbatim what he told me:

"Just heard back...

They found a powertrain vibration issue on one GT, something to do
with a "mount" and so now they all have to be checked and tested to
see if any others have the issue...

Also they ran out of owners manuals and are now going back and putting
manuals in all these cars parked out in the snow...

Once your car is cleared for shipment we should see it in about two weeks"

This is my Uncle whom I've known for 27 years so I don't think he's feeding me anything but the truth. As far as the rep he got the info from, I don't feel like he would make up something random like this.

So, I'm extremely happy to finally have some info trickling out. I think it's a little absurd cars would be held up for missing owners manuals but I guess you never know. If I take shipment in two weeks I'll be very happy and like everyone else giving it a thorough inspection. :clap2:

So as of now there is a trans issue a fire wall issue and a heat shield issue. I wouldn't think the owners manuals would be the problem cause they were shipping other cars still out after my build date. What will it be next? I'm not saying that anybody is lying or making up stuff but it is good to finally hear something. Hope to get a update on cotus by Friday!!!

None of this makes sense

Too many different reports on what is causing the holdup. different posts, reporting different reasons.
So, regardless of who anyones source is...Who are we all supposed to believe?
I will not take stock in any of these reports, because there are just too many that are conflicting with each other.

I would say it's safe to assume there was obviously a big deal as to why the vehicles are held and that Ford will not say why or reassure anyone their car is fine.

So when your car comes in, make sure you thoroughly check your vehicle out for any damage/noise. I'm very skeptical and I won't sign anything till I can thoroughly inspect the car. 34k is a lot of money to accept a car that is not 100% complete. You wouldn't buy a computer if it was damage, why a car that costs a considerable amount more?

I'm just glad none of the reports are anything that would have me worried about dealing with issues for the time I own the car. 1 mustang had a power train vibration, not concerned. Heat shield issue, I've ran cars without heat shields after the mounting points rusted. User manual, ship mine without one and mail it to me!

I have a terrible gut feeling that while my convertible has been held up for the firewall issue...no one has taken the time to check on the other multiple QC problems. Flat Rock is just going to fix the firewall and then shove my car out the door as quickly as possible.

Canceled my order today. I hope something happens soon for those of you still waiting on your cars. I don't understand Ford's ordering/build process but it seems that Ford could have pulled our VIN's or reassigned us new VIN's and sent new builds through the line. We would have our cars by now or they would be at the very least, in transit.

After driving 5 hours today round trip, through the rain, I came home with this one. Same car that I ordered with a couple of extras, Nav, security and back up assist. Car was on the lot and the dealer took X-plan and gave me a better interest rate. Good luck to those of you still waiting.

This is bullshit man.

The above poster is right.

We gotta wait for a defective fkn car while people who ordered after us are already receiving their vehicles.

There's not a GT PP color that I don't like and I could have one NOW. I live in Chicago land area the weather is not so good. I just want my white base GT PP.But FORD please update cotus and ship the cars already. I just had my dog in for a torn acl surgery yesterday. There goes my mods I had save up for. I have the next week off to watch her wish I had my car to work on,wash, sit in,drive, look at,take pictures, play with features,sh-- maybe even fall asleep in! Now I'll watch cotus to watch my car go no where, WHERE NO WHERE

Wish there was something we could do beside wait like sheep.
Ford tells us nothing, my dealer is clueless, where do we go for answers?

Suggest as a start we Contact Ford Corporate at the link below and explain our displeasure. Can't hurt.

Wouldn't be a bad idea. But I'll wait until I get the car to do this. If my car has alignment or any issues at all, they will get one huge email from me. Keeping my car for a month is fine, I didn't expect to get the car till March anyways. But to give me the car after a month hold at the factory and there are issues with the car. That is where I have a huge issue with.

Instead of beating our heads against Corporate Ford, would sending letters to national car magazines informing them of the problems we are having work better?

Eh, in my opinion, I would give FORD the chance to make a difference before sending the information off to any major magazines or sites. However, if you received a less than perfect car from Ford, and they haven't done anything to fix that. Then you have a full right to let people know. Since they were given a chance.

But it is entirely up to you.
