Scrapped the curb pretty bad trying to thread between two delivery trucks on a 1.5 lane road in the middle of a proper monsoon helping a friend deliver stuff.

From what I can find online, the repair is tape the edge, clean/degrease the wheel, sand the edge with something like 120 grit flapper on a Dremel/rotary, then finish with something like 400 grit sandpaper. Clean the wheel again, then prime, paint, wet-sand to blend and then clearcoat?

I'm just checking to see if anyone has any tips/knows a different process for rash this bad or for clearcoat/primer brand (I already have touch up paint from LMR) or if it's a better idea to just take it to a shop/would it need to get looked at to check if the wheel needs straightening. (I haven't felt any new crazy vibrations to be clear)

If you want it to be a good repair I’d take it to a welding shop. The will grind down the burrs and then fill in any gaps with aluminum weld and then reshape it to be unnoticeable. I had to do this to a wheel I dinged up and you’d never know it was repaired.
