I was washing my car today after a week of rainy weather and I noticed that my Velgen Satin Bronze wheels looked like a dull dusty penny even after washing. What product do you recommend to get the "brilliance" back?

ZPD: I am unfamiliar with your wheels but that really doesn't matter. Are they painted? If they are, then there's a clear coat and that is probably what has dulled. If all the above is true, then you can probably machine polish them. Problem is, wheels, especially intricate wheels can be a real pain to polish, often times parts are simply impossible to reach with a polisher. For these, hand polishing with the same compound should help noticeably even if you don't attain the same gloss.

The second problem is the polisher. For wheels, you almost need a gadget like this.

This IBrid Nano is about the best tool for the job but unfortunately, it's not inexpensive.

Rupes yellow pads and my favorite compound, Sonax Final Finish, would be my choice for the job if they are in fact painted.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply guys. I should mention that these wheels are only a few months old so it's not an issue of fading finish on the powdercoat.
