So my front bumper cover is basically trashed at this point. 30k miles, and there are so many rock chips, gouges, bug spots, and otherwise that it looks like the thing has been through a tornado.

Dr. Colorchip restored the hood and mirrors well enough. You can still see if you look real close, but overall not bad.

But the bumper still looks like sh*t. Gouges are too many, and too deep. So I will be replacing the whole f*cking assembly. I'm either going to get the Roush fascia kit, or just buy an OEM factory takeoff off ebay, in my color (Deep Impact Blue). Still mulling that over. The Roush kit is nice, but I can get a factory takeoff under $500, so there's that.

My question is... how the HELL can I prevent this from happening again? I don't tailgate rock trucks or anything. I've never had a car that attracted so many f*cking chips. I sure as hell don't want to drop this kind of money again.

So what's the best option? Some kind of paint sealant? Clear bra (and if so, what brand/installer?) Something else? Any ideas would be good.

Paint sealants aren't protecting from rock chips. Maybe those nano-coating things but I doubt even those are preventing something that can puncture the pre-existing clear-coat. A bra of sorts is your best bet, but those will mostly protect from light dings/small rocks/sand. Nothing is stopping a large rock outside of a full bra.

And yeah, as a DD in a high-traffic area, these things get pelted. 10k on my DIB and my hood above the lights is the worst area. Thankfully the amount of stuff I have on it covers it up from all but up-close inspection, but it's definitely tore up.

Wax/Sealant/Coating won't stop this.

You need a clear vinyl like XPel or one of those ugly full-front bras like your grandfather rocked on his minivan
