With a replacement, it's a MSRP for MSRP swap, correct? How does it work out with a buyback? Do they give you the price you paid plus taxes and fees or MSRP plus taxes and fees? I am assuming Ford is eating the small amount of miles on the cars since they are new.

They go by the states lemon laws. In my case, the only thing i have to pay is the difference between the two vehicles. Because the old vehicle was financed, it makes it more difficult though. I did not have any mileage fees to deal with because my state does not charge mileage fees under replacement(only refunded)

Ok, yeah I just looked at it and it's the refund of the purchase price (for my state).

Sorry man, that sucks. Hopefully your new one is trouble free, and this all just makes for a good car show story in a few years.

Certainly hope so.

I am honestly at the point where I am not even excited to get the car anymore.. Its pretty bad lol.

I SHOULD have pursued a buy back instead of replacement, and gone with something else honestly. That thought might change when im driving the new car home, but at this point in time, thats where i am at.

The 2018 Mustang is amazing, but Ford customer service is absolutely horrible. I'm torn right now. If mine is repaired and works fine, then I'm likely to keep it.

Yea that is a tough call. I hope that my 2018 is problem free. I just ran the VIN and found out that it is an early production(oct 2017) and its been sitting since then. Makes me nervous. I think I am going to to the break in 1000 miles on it, and then have the oil changed because its been sitting so long. It seems like a lot of people have had issues with early builds.

The customer service is part of what you're paying for, and I can't speak for other brands, but I can't imagine its much worse elsewhere. I know chrysler's customer service is absolute crap too lol.

Did they give you an option to replace the car with another special order? If they did, I would have gone for a 19 myself (if you wanted to stick with a Stang that is).

I COULD have done that, but it would have prolonged the process even further.

I ran the VIN on the new car, and it was produced oct. 2017, so my nerves are pretty high now..

Yeah I hear you. It's been a week since my dealer put in the repair order for the clutch grind and so far nothing has been done other than talking with Ford on their hot line. Hopefully they can identify the problem and order the parts before the end of this week. It seems like a lot of parts related to the clutch/trans for the 2018s are not available though so who knows how long this ordeal will take. I am starting to strategize the various outcomes especially if the car is still sitting in the shop come June.

Did you test drive the replacement car? I would do that before finalizing the swap. Take it above 5k RPM in 1st/2nd/3rd and make sure there is no grinding noise when releasing the clutch on the up-shift. Maybe also check if it has the engine rattle from the other thread and see how bad it is.

I'd 100% listen to any funny noises and bring it to the dealer ASAP to get the paper trail if it does start having random knocking sounds. After the 1st oil change, open up the filter and look for any excess metal flakes. 1st oil change usually has some in it just as the parts are wearing in.

After that, you can send the oil to Blackstone to make sure it's all looking good.

I don't think any Oct 2017 cars have shown issues yet. Looks like it's the November ones.

I did test drive it last week, and it drove great, no ticking or anything like that. I do plan to put the first 1000 miles on it, and then change the oil since it has been sitting. I would change it sooner, but I am sure there are break in additives in the oil.

I did get on the car on the test drive a couple times, just to make sure nothing sounded off as well.

I tried to call my caseworker and see if I can get them to call the dealer and give them the OK on the financial side of things. I want my car today lol.
