You would think. 45 minutes and still no call.
I would be sitting at the dealer tapping my fingers lol. I did my PDI at 9pm, which ended up being a mistake though since I missed a small scratch on the side mirror.

Called the dealer. The sales manager I was working with went home for the day.

So, I called my salesperson and he filled me in. Apparently, the dealership DID submit my application for a new loan, and I was indeed approved last week Thursday. I guess the sales manager was off that day, and wasn't made aware of that fact.

According to what I was told on the conference call this evening, as soon as I was approved for the loan, I should have been able to get the vehicle.

The sales guy told me that the GM said that tomorrow they should be good and I can come get the car.

Guess im getting the runaround from the dealer this time.

Sigh.

So here's me not getting my hopes up about getting the car again tomorrow. I feel embarrassed for Ford, every party involved is the equivalent of a monkey having its way with a football.

When I went to look at it last week, I checked over the whole car. Had a friend come up there with me. Noticed a scuff on the spoiler, which I told them needs to not be there when I pick the car up.

I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Have you mentioned to them how much you LOVE filling out Customer Sat surveys?

How the dealership manager didn't call the sales manager and tell him to drag his ass back to the dealer to get this resolved is amazing.

I hope you're able to pick the car up tomorrow.

HAHA, I have not! Didn't think to mention it honestly. If i do get a survey, I will definitely be going about as bad of a rating as I can though!

What dealership is this again?

There's a lot of bad process here, and it sounds like a lot of it is on the dealer's side of things. They sound incompetent, but it almost sounds like they're just stalling. For me once the final numbers were agreed on over the phone by the time I reached the dealership finance was ready for me and i was gone probably 30 minutes later. Maybe I just got extremely lucky b/c I didn't have to order mine, but either way if they wanted this done they would have gotten it done well before now.

The other thing that I can't get over is what I had said originally - why screw around trying to rebuild the engine when a crate motor would save everyone time and money? If they had done that in the first place you'd have your car back and we wouldn't be talking about an '18 swap - probably quite a while ago, and we'd be talking a LOT less money in the transaction. Simply dumb.

The dealership should have been thinking about how it would be best to get you out of there the fastest way possible. Either they have the worst warranty clerk ever, or they are dragging their feet for some other reason.

Either way being persistent is the way to go here. I'm glad you didn't give up, b/c I wouldn't have. I want the car, so I wouldn't have budged.

Oh the stories from hell about RV build quality and the horrors of trying to get RV manufacturers to fix items properly while under warranty.... :frusty:
Haha, luckily I am just in purchasing and not the manufacturing side. It is amazing how cheap they are built though

I’ll be nice and leave names out of it for now haha. I am happy to be getting an 18, at the same point I am footing 100% of the bill. I believe my 17 was completed two weeks ago, but, not with a long block, just a rebuild.

I have definitely been persistent. Pretty much to the point where I think ford needs to cut me a paycheck, because I have done multiple peoples jobs for them(I feel anyway.)

I certainly hope that tomorrow is the end of all of this mess.

Honestly I dont know.

Here is what I was told last night by my salesman though.

The dealer, this past thursday, DID submit my finance contract to Ford Credit, and DID get an approval. So, the new loan is approved. The dealer has already cashed my $2000 check, and the financing is done and over with.

From the conference call I had last night, Ford credit said that they did not see a loan with the new VIN attached to it. The sales manager said that he was going to submit the new finance contract to ford motor credit for approval.

The salesman guaranteed me that the finance manager DID submit that contract, and it was approved.

Ford credit told the group of us last night, that once they see the contract submitted, the dealer can release the vehicle.

At this point, I am so damn confused. One party says one thing, another party says another.

See, that's the problem I'm having with this issue. As far as I know that's an electronic transaction. It literally can happen in 5 minutes.

Tell the finance manager to submit it again with someone on the other end waiting to receive it.

Tell them you are going to cash out and want your money back, you will be driving that car out of there the same day.

They're just dicking you around.
My dealer let me have my '16 hours after it came off the truck before any of the financing was even completed.

Yea, according to the finance manager and my salesperson, the financing was approved on thursday. I dont see where the problem lies. I believe the GM and the Sales manager were mis-informed about how the process works to be honest.

HAHA, yea I somehow doubt it would work that way though. Ive already signed paperwork and financed the car.

Oh I agree. This is car #3 from this dealership. Including this car, this will be $112,000 in vehicles from them. I cant believe that they are stringing my along like this. The sad part is, the sales guy is awesome, as is the finance manager. They have always been great to work with.

IDK. Just tried to call the dealer, and the sales manager is "in a company lunch" and can't be reached at the moment. So, I texted my sales guy asking how things are looking today.
