cbrookre a present for you. My dad just emailed me pics of his old hot rod. That's me at the wheel ;)

A bit closer to the finished product is below (well...these things are never really 'finished', are they ;)). Dad put his own twist on things, for sure!
So cool!!! Great story, no wonder you are so hooked on performance! :)

A panhandler complimented my 16 year-old exhaust leaking, brake squealing, valve clicking V6 yesterday.

Feels good man.

All the kids in my neighborhood love my GT and since my new exhaust I give it a couple of revs for them when I pull into my spot. They also make sure no one touches my car and they rat out anyone even looking at it, LOL, I trained them well.

I counted 5 compliments driving around today with the lady. 2 or 3 "nice car" had one guy talk about the new 350 for a couple minutes while I was parking. A FEDEX truck driver complimented the convertible in this sunny weather, two grizzly bears in a lifted f350 asking if it's the turbo, it's stats, and nice car.

It's just funny, because I told this new gf that things like this happen almost daily when we first started dating, and now she's there to witness it several times in one day lol.

I had a funny one today at a red light. Thought this guy in his mid-size SUV was doing a "roll down your window" hand signal, so I obliged. (This was through my passenger window.)

I felt kinda dumb...he didn't even have his window open and he was actually doing that "burnt my hand" gesture, so I completely misread. Oh well...

He then opened his window (shaking his head)...

Me: Don't like it?

Him: (still shaking his head) Too hot to handle! Damn, that is nice. You got it goin' on, don't you?

Me:  (Shrugging, noticing and smiling at the woman in the back seat, looking amused)
I like it...You gonna get one?

Him: After seeing this...thinkin' about it!!

Me: You should!! :ford:

Light changed, I took off (but not fast...he got way ahead of me in the traffic :p).

kat, I don't know whether to applaud you for not WOTing away like a douche or call you a girl for being gentle with a GT.

Call me one with common sense for not slamming into the car in front of me?

I owed a buddy a bottle of limoncello that I made a month ago. So the wife and I drive over to the coast to drop it off. He lives just off the beach and it was one of those bright sunny days were Ruby Red explodes. We must have gotten five or six compliments on the way over the hill.

Funniest thing though was I parked the car top still down in front of his house and two different neighbors had to come to the door just to say how great it looked.

Ruby Red freshly clayed and waxed just explodes in the sunlight.

Can I come live with you at La Jolla? It's my favorite spot near SanDiego!

I've noticed a lot of Chevy truck guys lately love my car. Not sure if it's just coincidence but I've been getting compliments from them.

My favorite is always the surprise..

Random: "Nice car! Is it your husband's?"
Me: "Nope."
Random: "Wow, and a V8?"
Me: "OMG! And it is a standard!!"
Random: MIND BLOWN.

I have had that mind blown look a few times now after the compliment of the car. I love doing that to people. Apparently in the south a woman with a V8 outside a truck is just blasphemy. lol

Not me, down here in Florida most all the trucks hate my stang, but then again most of these guys are rednecks with the big tires jacked up etc, I give less the zero% about what they think, lol.

I think some lifted trucks are magnificent, beautiful even. :) It's not just a redneck thing.

I just had a guy in a black s550 like mine pass me the opposite direction, laying on the horn and triumphantly pumping his fist at me. He was very excited..lol
