I worry about that also. My friend's car got keyed when it was brand new, and it was just a low level civic. Thankfully I can park the car in a personnel parking lot at work. I'm glad I have barely seen any new ones, gonna make it that much more fun owning one. That being said, a lot of my neighbors have 200k+ cars. So no one is likely to notice. Someone down the street has an MP4-12c.

We have a private lot at work also and a guy ran a stop sign in the lot and pretty much t-boned my Camaro. Was $6,000 in damage.

I was washing my car on Sunday as I heard a vehicle slow down behind me (as I had my back to the road). I turned to look thinking it was someone I knew but when I looked over it was a young girl in her early twenties giving me exactly one of these looks:

I stopped at a red light yesterday and there was about 5 guys on the corner i overheard one of them say "I thinks thats a BMW or a Jag". I didn't correct them because the light changed but Im glad some think that it looks like cars that cost twice as much. I guess its the european look.

Seriously, I have noticed the same kind of reactions out of people from all walks of life. I was too young to remember, but I'll bet it was the same thing when the '64.5 came out. Love it, hate it, or anywhere in between, you have to admit Ford hit it out of the park when it comes to making 1st impressions with the '15 Mustang.

Got two today on tbe way to the gym in traffic
1) guy pulls up in S197 mustang and says I'm jealous. Let me hear what it sounds like. I told him it was pretty quiet and just got my new exhaust. Just as I said that he revs his, pretty loud he said he replaced the xpipe
2) truck pulls up and guy said you gonna let me test drive that new 5.0

Lol. Mam, that second one reminds me of a lady I encountered the other day. She said it sounded like my trans was slipping, she had me somewhere concerned for a second, but then she said I should let her test it out to make sure lol. I laughed. Then promptly said NO.

I got stuck behind a school bus today in my neighborhood as all the kids were unloading. The looks and screams I got were so amusing. One kid dropped his jaw and stood staring for a good 3 minutes. Another kid screamed "Oh My God!" over and over again as he pointed and jumped up and down at me. Two other kids came up to the driver's side with big thumbs up. Yet another kid took his backpack and threw it to the ground as he put his hands on his hips and shook his head from side to side while staring me down. My wife was with me and she couldn't believe all the reactions at first. She's like "What is wrong with these kids?" And I said, "It's not the kids, it's the car."

Took the car to a Merchant's to have one of my old tires plugged. ALL of the mechanics came out to have a look and take pictures. Honestly, she gets looks everywhere I go...love this car, man.

I got my friend who was contemplating getting a '16 Camaro interested once I took him to Ford to test drive a '15

To my surprise, he could actually drive stick (As in, stalled twice at most) and now is changing his mind about the camaro and instead considering getting a Manual GT just to one up me

I was on my way to work last Sunday and while stopped at a light there was a econo van next to me. I could feel eyes on me and figured it was a group of kids in the car that were looking over. I turned my head and all i saw was 6 grown men with their eyes glued to the window peeling down at the car. Their were covered with tattoos on every inch of skin that was visible and to much of my surprise, it was a group of inmates in their orange suits on their way to community work or something. Being the Gone in Sixty Seconds fan that I am, I flipped that Sport+ on and got outta there as soon as the light turned green, not wanting to be the next Eleanor.

Parked in a hamburger joint muscle car meet up today. And parked in a line of 6 old vintage Thunderbirds, 3 vintage vets, and 6 Stang GTs ...came out from eating a burger and was about to drive away when someone yelled out, "Hey Purple Dude...no so fast, come explain these wild purple & gold leather seats". Everyone had gathered around my car looking at that gaudy interior because I had the top down. Someone noticed that I had an LSU logo on my purple golf shirt. One of the ladies exclaimed that I was "one of those crazy LSU fans". I thanked her. Four of the other car guys wanted to know all about the Custom Katzskins leather seats as their cars needed some interior work. Other than the gaudy color, they all liked the seats and especially the price. One of the Vet guys had his girlfriend take pictures of my seats so that he could show the Local Katzskins dealer the style of leather to order for his 1972 Vett vert. He wanted to do some in red and black to match his red Vett. I drove off the lot thinking, "Imitation is the sincerist form of flattery". This "Purple Dude" as the motor heads named me drove home laughing. There's a bit of magic in these new Mustangs I tell ya!

I had two things happen to me pretty much back to back.

So last night I leave work and I notice a young kid had been sitting outside my store for a couple hours. I offer him a ride and he says he has no where to go because he got kicked out the house. An officer arrives just a few minutes later, (mind you I had pulled my mustang up to the front of the store by now since it was 11pm) and the cop immediately starts asking me about the mustang and complimenting it. About 10 minutes later another officer pulls up and starts talking to me about my mustang. The first one goes and talks to the kid, puts him in the back of the cruiser, and comes right back to me and we chit chat for another 5 minutes. It was kind of funny, yet I kinda felt bad for the kid. At one point the second officer notices my radar detector and points to something attatched to the outside of his cruiser and says that he will get me way before my radar detector picks him up. I laugh and in a joking kind of way say I wouldn't be so sure about that. So we wrap things up and I leave.

This morning, the morning after this, I had the garage door open as I was cleaning the inside of my mustang. FedEx guy pulls up and gets a dolly out for a couple large packages of dog food I had ordered. So I got out to give him a hand. As he's pulling the dolly up he notices my mustang in the garage. So we take the packages in the garage and he's looking all around it, asks about the exhaust so I start her up and give a few good revs. He was hanging around for a good few minutes admiring my mustang before he left.

Good times, good times.

In the 21 months I had my FoST, I didn't receive near the attention this Mustang has received in the 1 month of ownership. Everything from thumbs up driving by a group of teens on the sidewalk to an elder lady shouting "that car is sexy as hell" from her car next to me at a red light to people stopping at the end of my driveway to comment as I'm washing it. Stare downs, thumbs up, waves, comments galore....this car gets attention!
