Break in Period?

Just got my Bullitt yesterday...loving it (L3548)

Is there a break in period for these cars where you shouldn't do "x" until "y"?

Hypothetical speaking for example, "dont go in Track Mode until 1,000 miles" (I know this isnt true)

Just keep the revs relatively low until 500 to 1000 miles and you’ll be fine. Everyone pushes redline before that on occasion and it will be fine. Moderation is key. Just don’t really hit it hard until after break in. It will last well into 6 digits.

Which is exactly what Ford tell you not to do! There are a multitude of threads on here about how you should be careful, thrash the arse off it, change the oil every 20 miles, don't change the oil etc etc. It is a road engine and the manufacturers tell you what you should do. Just follow it !

Manual says:

Avoid driving too fast during the first 1000 mi (1,500 km). Vary your speed frequently and change up through the gears early. Do not labor the engine.

At the end of the day, you should do what you’re comfortable with OP, but know that it won’t hurt these cars at all to drive them (and not baby them). There are plenty of examples of people demonstrating that these cars can take it. Here’s one example on a brand new Bullitt being run/tuned on the Dyno with only 3 miles on it.
