Well after almost two months of ownership, I finally got the Bullitt Break-in (1,000 miles - 1,600km) done. Basically kept it below 4,500 rpm in most driving, Well summer is dome and last week was one final kick at it, so on Friday, I hit the road for an 800km (500 mile) run, to get it through the 1,600 km (1,000 mile) "barrier"
Weather was beautiful, low temp in the mountains was 9C (48F) and high on the final 100km (62m) run home of 27C (81F). The route included mountain freeway, tight technical country road and open single lane highway winding through mountains and around lakes.....(one 95 km road was practically deserted).
What a car!!! Absolutely love it. Keeping it below 5,000 it drives easily and briskly ("Dr. Jekyll"), above 5K, meet "Mr. Hyde"
No Drama at all, just goes very quick with ease. This is a true GT car. Makes traversing long distances a breeze. Although, I have to say on a long trip the exhaust does wear you down a bit, so after a few hours, I put it in quiet mode, while in sport+, and enjoyed the B&O sound system. And the cherry on top at the end was 9.4 km/100 km (25mpg US - 30mpg IMP). Not bad at all. Also received a couple on compliments on the car, one from a flag person on the hwy, and the second at a gas station....
Here are a few pics I got on the trip.
