2.50 vs. 3.00 is a great deal of difference in cross-sectional area. Do the math and it will surprise you. After you see that difference then think of it in terms of volume! And the further away from the cylinder head, the less that exhaust components make a difference. Header design is where it's at.

Interesting this thread. I'm looking for something better than the stock exhaust but not loud. How could be rated the volume with ford racing or borla touring axleback with 1) stock resonator 2) borla resonator 3) resonator delete

My ideal configuration would be ford racing touring axleback with gt350 valance but I need help to decide how to control the volume.

I thought my Borla touring was not going to get louder! I was wrong! After installing the Steeda CAI, the exhaust volume gone up a little, but in a good way! It sounds more deeper but still silent while cruising in town and the highway. Once you get on it at WOT, its amazing! You won't regret having this catback! It is the perfect setup for a DD!

A resonator delete will be the loudest. Someone in the "exhaust loudness" thread said he had an S type muffler with stock resonator, then changed to the Borla Touring (same muffler with Borla Resonator) and he thought it was louder.

well, I heard the resonator delete clips and that is not for me. They work only with stock mufflers, with others the volume become too high.

Understand what is the real volume is very hard and I think the best way is to hear when the car is far.

The Borla touring seems very very fine for me but I would like the gt350 rear valance so i have to find a solution with the frpp mufflers.

The touring system from Ford Racing comes with an x pipe and it's too loud for me. My wife will hear me when I power on the car to leave the office.

Considering that the Borla touring mufflers are the same as the s type and the correspondent ford racing part are the "sport" mufflers.. what should I buy?

FRPP Sport or touring to combine with the borla resonator to get the same level of sound of borla touring catback? With this combination there are zero videos. :ninja:

It's tough to choose even when you have a sound clip. There are so many variables in the recordings, and volume is impossible to discern. Whatever you choose have an alternate plan if it doesn't work out how you like it. I plan on getting the S type. If it is too loud for me (which I doubt) they should be easy to sell and I can bolt in the FR Touring. Don't cut up your exhaust to the point that you have to replace something later if you want to make a change. That is why the catbacks are popular because you can keep the original exhaust system in your garage in case you want to change back. I have read on 6G about people who cut off their stock resonator then hated it. Keep the parts you take off.

are the s type louder than corsa sport?
You might check out the link I posted above. They discuss loudness ad nausem, but I'm not sure if they address that specific question.

I have the touring with the fr x pipe. Sounds like a muscle car should. Mellow when driving normal...attitude when you put the hammer down. Perfect for me. Not too loud at all.
