The Borla Mid Muffler possibly has better flow compared to the OEM resonator. I would really like to see a Dyno graph with Borla Touring vs OEM!

catbacks are for sound, not for power, maybe 1-2 hp, buy for sound, not for powre

Indeed. What surprises me is that Ford is trying so hard to loose the weight on the GT350 but didn't pay attention to the GT. GT350 comes with an x pipe straight from the factory, while the GT has this heavy resonator in place. If I m not mistaken, the s197 GT's didn't have a resonator.
the 350 is an enthusiast car, they aren't worried about nvh levels and such in it

S197 GT's had not one but two resonators, one in each overaxle pipe.

The OEM resonator has been proven to not be a restriction. People are replacing them with straight pipe and seeing practically zero gains on the dyno.
