I compared this to the FRPP versions that i ve found on youtube. This setup is by far quieter than the FRPP version!

If the Borla S type catback AND the Borla touring catback both have the same axleback muffler (Borla S Type on both with difference being the touring catback comes with a resonator) then does anyone know that this axleback is also the exact same Borla S Type Axleback sold separately as a replacement for the GT OEM mufflers?
As far as I can tell the axleback is the same part in all 3 cases...part 11887.

The reason I ask is I was first thinking of installing the Borla S type on my current OEM exhaust (but it has an MRT H-Pipe).
If that is too loud for my taste I could find out if it is possible to order the touring catback mid-pipe and resonator and combine them with the axleback. They might not let you order the parts separately though.

You could always use the stock resonator with the Borla S-type mufflers and accomplish nearly the same thing as the Borla Touring system.

Yes true, although I did saw off the resonator to put the H-pipe in. Probably could find clamps to put that back on if I needed to tone it down a bit. That should save some money, so yes that's another option. Thanks.

Thank you sir for the business and the great feedback!

If anyone has any questions just let us know!
Hi Jayman,

Maybe you can help. Do you know if the inlets to the mid muffler in this kit is 2" or 2 1/4"? I have ordered Kooks LT's and want to ask them if they can fabricate me a new set of elbows which come off the cat pipe into the stock location to bump it back up to 2 1/2". This way it would go from the LT's into 2 1/2" all the way back as opposed to dropping down to 2" at that connection.

It looks like from this picture there is enough pipe to cut off the drop down and weld on new 2 1/2" pieces???

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, any idea when my kit will ship???

Thanks,

Jaime

Got my touring installed and like it. It's definitely quieter than the FFRP sports I had but not night and day. Plus for me I think the long tubes will wake this system up and I won't be borderline obnoxious with S types and long tubes.

Well currently i have Roush axle backs but don't want anything louder than that. I m still considering this system in the future cause the stock resonator is heavy and restrictive!

Haven't heard the Roush kit myself other than online but I can tell you the Borla Touring is quieter.
If you plan on headers, based on what your looking for, I would then switch to the Borla Touring.

I only switched to this kit because I am doing headers.

Stock resonator does not restrict power. Complete catbacks only gain 3-5hp.
Interesting, i ve seen dyno graphs of cars here in this forum showing 395+ whp with just a catback upgrade. Also the dyno graphs of Gibson and other companies showed gains but that might be the difference of 87 vs 93 octane fuel with a broken in engine. Its hard who to trust here lol.
