@wingnutt man, you’ll be passing me any week now! We just picked up a new Braptor, so the Shelby has been sitting idle and being neglected for weeks now haha.

I have the exact same idea, aiming to shut her down around 100k miles and begin a built block build. Turn it up to 1000+ whp and call it a day. Keep it around for the kiddos to enjoy when they are older.

Ok yall, it’s that time, engine is being rebuilt by tkm as a cross plane basically to the 5.2xs specs but with a sleeved block. What would yall consider the most reliable boost provider.

My pro/con list is like this
Ess G3’s looks good but may lack the torque punch
Pro charger I’ve heard tuners have to turn down the knock sensors to get it to run well which scares me and I have some drag and drive buddies that seem to require a new head unit annually. Soo 👀
Whipple has the torque punch but seems to run into belt slip issues at big power numbers and stresses the crank snout
Hellion turbo, honestly the only thing I don’t like is the oil return back to the oil fill cap
Aldo welds turbo… not much info to make a decision on but damn she looks good.

Seems like every power adder has its pros and cons.

- Superchargers can have belt issues or broken crank snouts
- Nitrous requires repeated bottle fills
- Turbos can have mild to wild fitment issues

The end user just has to follow their gut when making the decision and be prepared for the unexpected.

My ESS G3x kit just landed today.. mega pumped about it to say the least. She's getting injectors, boostapump, OPG/crank sprocket and a Barton all at the same time

Hellion for me. Why don't you like the oil return set up?
The plastic tower going into the plastic valve cover doesn’t seem sturdy and I’ve heard of people having issues but haven’t seen it.

I can only speak on my own experience but4 1/2 year and almost 80k miles since installing the turbos and never had an issue with it. I love the fact its gear driven instead of using an electric pump too. I'd say the only down fall would be if you have to add some oil you better have a 19mm wrench or at least a crescent wrench handy.

I can only contribute comments about the Whipple. Not sure what your power goals are, but I haven’t had belt slip running a greenbelt and a Griptec supercharger pulley pushing low 800 to the wheels. No issues other than blowing o2’s on occasion for obvious reasons. Going on 8 years now, 85k on the ticker, 69k miles of that have been blown.
