Explained buyback choice....

So Papaya says he no longer has a 2015 mustang but now he has an ALUMINUM BODIED 2015 F-150?

Isn't this like going from the frying pan into the fire ? :D
No idea but time will tell.
But with the all new 2015 F150 I got:
  • Steel bumpers - not the popping out plastic bumper I had on the 2015 Mustang
  • Straight edges and panels - not the "hand crafted" panels I had on the 2015 Mustang (Ponygrrrl's Mustang looked like as terrible as the one I had.)
  • Again an all new EcoBoost engine and this time twin turbo 2.7 liter :D
  • 6 seats - actually no idea what to do with that. But not the cheap leather covers like I had on my 2015 Mustang! Both seat covers getting replaced too.
  • Again a vehicle what wasn't really my choice - *but still better then losing a lot money!

*the dealer pointed out that if I choose a equally priced car he buys the Mustang back. Actually we signed all papers and I saw that he paid off the whole credit. As he pointed out yesterday, I drove the Mustang the last couple of months for free. Only fair as he mentioned with all the trouble. On top, he got the price for the F150 down from$52,900 to $45,000 CAD (he couldn't bring it down all the way to $43,600 what my Mustang was listed).

On top Ford Canada gave me $1,000 credit to shop for accessories right away. :ford: I can't complain so far. I only wished, that other members who have the same issues, get the same customer service I got from my dealer.

I've still got a lot to bitch about I just got tired of the dealer having my car and nothing getting done. The last time they had it for a week and all they did was adjust the front bumper even tho I gave them a whole list of things that needed to be fixed. I go away for 2 weeks in July I'm gonna give them the car then an see what happens [emoji58]

Mine is also going in on Monday for the trunk lid and hood alignment. Gonna get them to install my BigWorm stripes at the same time.

I am trying to stay positive for now but if it comes out of the body shop looking worse or no better than before, I will not accept it. I will just keep sending it back until either..

A. They get it to a point that I consider acceptable (I'm not expecting perfection here).

or

B. They fail to fix it after 4 attempts, in which case I am going to use the nuclear option (lemon law).

If they do a good job then I may ask for them to do the rear bumper seams where it meets the fenders and the driver door which is about 1/4" from being flush with the fender at the front/bottom.

The only other issue I have is the sloping rear glass.. probably about 1/8" lower on the driver side. This I am going to just live with because.. A. it could cause all kinds of problems if they try to fix it (leaks, etc.), and B. it's really not noticeable unless you are looking for it.

Nuclear option haha...i like that. I'm tempted to tell them because of all the delays that they need to put in my Corsa catback for free

I put my Corsa catback in myself, it's not very difficult. Just get some Rhino ramps from Walmart for 40 bucks and back the car up on to them.

I did have to cut my stock exhaust system to remove it though. There wasn't enough clearance to just "slide it back until the front can be lowered down" like they say in the instructions.

cheers

I've been reading this thread with interest.

I'm glad to hear your issues have been dealt with and looks like the dealer has gone out of his way to restore the relationship.

I have a RHD GT on order; ours (for Australia) will be MY16 and I'm hoping the car meant for me won't have panel alignment issues. I have a locally manufactured Ford Australia GT R-Spec (5.0L Supercharged V8) and the body is as tight as a drum.

All the Best!

I hope honestly everyone gets a real nice Mustang! We picked up our F150 on Friday afternoon. I didn't had that "wow" feeling like I should have. The Mustang was actually "my baby".

Well I got my car back from the dealer body shop and they have done a pretty good job. The trunk lid no longer rubs against the rear fender.

It is still slightly misaligned with a larger gap to the left taillight than to the right. But I can live with that.

The hood is now pretty much perfect with equal gaps on both sides and a near perfect fit along the front edge. It is also easy to latch now.

Overall, I have to say they did better job than I was expecting and I am pleased with the results.

The only issues left are the seams where the bumpers meet the fenders (front and rear). They are misaligned and if you run your finger along the seam, you can feel that the paint is damaged too. This doesn't bother me too much at the moment so I am still debating whether I should ask them to fix it.

Hi all, I've been in the market for a 2015 mustang V6 for the past few weeks. I test drove one but did not have a chance to do a full walk around. Prior to my current car I had a 2014 Camaro RS and I was very disappointed with the build quality. Body parts were not aligned, I had paint issues and the exhaust was rusted all on a brand new car. I sold it and bought a Honda in hopes of waiting and purchasing the new Mustang when it came out. That said, I read this thread from beginning to end and I must say that I'm getting cold feet. I'm very picky when it comes to my car and I don't know if I can accept some of the issues you're all facing. Are these issues affecting all cars off the assembly line or is this an issue of a bad batch. Anyone been to the dealer recently and checked some of the new cars on the lot for these same issues? Anyone from Califronia experience these problems? Thank you!

When I took my car 10 days ago for the paint correction - the mustangs on the lot still had the issues.
