I picked my 2015 GT up and didn't notice any issues. I began noticing alignment problems where the drivers side rear panel meets the bumper. The bumper itself bulges slightly in one area too, sticking out slightly over the quarter panel. The gap between the trunk and this same drivers side panel is less than the passenger side. If not for the first mentioned issue,I would have overlooked third trunk gap. The rest of the car, including its imperfections I can deal with. I was going to have this gap looked at during an appointment tomorrow set to deal with dash/door/suspension rattles and squeaks. Detailing it today I noticed another issue on the same panel. There is an uneven spot or slight bend in the metal under the paint, almost looks like a slight dip in the metal. No issue with the paint..just how it reflects because the dimple is there. This dimple is just in front of where the deck wing on the trunk overlaps the body panel under it. So basically this dimple is facing up. This is the same body panel that is misaligned with the bumper.
Docfinder1, send over some info: VIN, mileage, name, phone number, and dealer info. I'll get this escalated to a customer service manager. Once you get to the dealer, they'll be able to assist in the repair process.

Well I got my car back. Looks like the only thing they got to line up properly was the hood. The trunk is still off and the rear quarters where they meet the rear bumper are still off. I also have creases/waves in the hood trunk and driver door that they said were fixed but are still clearly there.
I've updated your case notes to reflect that not everything has been resolved. I'll request the CSM follows up with you to see how to best proceed.

My sales person called me back and wants to schedule a time for me to come in and get it fixed. So far it seems good and I think I will go through the dealership. I just hope they don't use hammers to fix it.
So far I'm impressed with the after sales customer service. If they fix this alignment the right way, then I'll be ready to start writing some good reviews.
Hey skiski329,

Send a PM with your VIN, mileage, name, phone number, and dealer info. I'll loop in a customer service manager to assist with the process. They'll help ensure your Pony gets put back in line.

That's an alignment of the passengers door.
The door is closed BTW :)
Now it is open. I don't think I can stick a piece of paper in there.
I'm here to help HETPE3B. Let me have your VIN, mileage, name, phone number, and dealer info. I'll loop in a customer service manager.

I just bought my car Friday, noticed the hood was not aligned properly. I'm brining it in next Monday to have them look at it. It is disappointing that you pay this much for a car and already have to get it fixed. Hopefully they can handle it.
Same for you 5starr0. PM me that info, and I'll get you some assistance for your appointment on Monday. :)

I have some of the same issues...nothing as bad as the pic but...nothing is really perfect either. The worst part for me is the front clip on the drivers side where it meets the fender over the wheel well. They are not lined up so there is not a smooth line all over the top of the tire. Also my driver door is sunk in just a little on the door handle end when shut. Kinda erks me but.....I dont know. I am not a car show guy...I struggle with it but lean towards letting that go...is it really that big a deal? For me..I dont know. I love the car so much I think I am just going to look past it. Now, if my trunk was THAT unaligned, I would not be able to handle that I dont think.

I have the same problem with the front drivers side were the fascia meets the fender it was so bad you could see the clips. Took it back to the dealer and they repaired it looked good for a day then it moved back to the way it was, its back at the dealer now to have that repaired again plus they have to repaint my passenger side rear quarter panel to fix some very poor repair work done at the factory. And if that's not enough they are replacing the brakes all the way around.

I was able to talk with the service manager today, and he really put me at ease. It sounds like they are going to take great care of the car, and make sure it's perfect.

We were able to find a day this week that works for both of us, so i'll update once it comes out.

I also have a new outlook on Ford and their service. Before, i was worried about the service (this being my first Ford). So far, i'm really impressed and wish i switched to Ford sooner!

I picked up today my Mustang. It looks much better than before but I am still disappointed how FORD pushed out my car at the factory. The trunk lid is kinda fixed but still crooked and so the rear window. I'm not working in Flat Rock and do not know if "not enough sealant " on the driver side is the issue there. My rear window was cut out and reinstalled. Still not fine like I would like it to be. But as I mentioned before, the body shop said: "We can't fix what comes crooked from the factory! " The left part of the plastic cover on the trunk lid is still lower than the taillight - with the right edge fitting now better into the whole picture. I will post pictures later.

May be the real problem is with the taillights?

That would be the easiest thing to fix. You didn't read here through did you? Only take a look at the pictures of my "new" Mustang. The body shop took off every part in the back. Believe us that it isn't the taillight itself.

I won't be at the dealer as well when they fix my rear glass so I also do not know if it's all in the adhesive either. I can only go with what I am told, same as what you were told by your body shop that the panels on yours are crooked. I'd love to be a fly on the wall, not gonna happen so all I can do is my due diligence to make sure the repairs are properly done.

Be it minor or major stuff happening to our cars, I hope for the best that folks get their Ponys up to snuff properly & expeditiously.

Not an easy fix!

Hello together.
I like to post the pictures from my Mustang after the body shop took my car in parts what looked like this:

After dozens hours of work, I got my car back after 4 weeks waiting time like this:

You can still see the issues some of us have with the early production cars.
1.) Sunken rear window on the driver side - the shop could not fix it better.
2.) Rear bumper, left rear panel. They tried to get it straight but it always popped back.
3.) trunk lid left side - the whole trunk lid is still crooked. That is the best they could do.

Here another ankle where you can see how crooked the trunk lid is, left side:

Here are the right side:

1.) Sunken window edge, driver side
2.) trunk lid - you can see that the form does not fit to the rear panel of the car. No way the body shop can fix this. The dealer actually ordered one but it was worst than the original one. The body shop guy did grind off the edge on the right side and welded a straight edge on. :faint:
3.) the doors are a nightmare for every body shop guy. If they fit on the top - they are off on the bottom...... Actually they had to lose both fenders to align the fenders and doors on the front.

The hood - problem. If it fitted the front and side of the fenders - she was off on the top back edge. Here on the front passenger side, the fender is too high:

On the driver side is it the other way around. Hood fits on the side of the fender but front is to high and back is to low:

What now? The car looks much better than before but still it is crooked. People saying that it is maybe an easy fix - have no idea what they are talking about. Period! My car was taken in parts on the rear end to checkout what is wrong with it. The body shop said right away, after they took it apart and did see what was wrong, that they can't fix this.
Now I have to contact FORD Canada Service what we do next. I keep you guys updated!

Take a good look how the shop took it in parts. And no! No plastic part is wrong. No seal to thick or thin on the taillights! It's the body of the 2015 Mustang. It came like this from the factory!

If people like to get a new Mustang or ordered one already - please refuse your car if it has the same issues! It can't be easy fixed!

Thanks for reading!

So frusterating, I'm just getting more and more worked up as I wait for my Monday appointment. Found a nice gap by the front of the headlight yesterday big enough to drop change down while the other side is flush.

I'm not even "wind up " anymore. It is what it is. Going step by step and see what FORD is saying from now on.
