Very important facts are not even addressed here about how this test does not simulate anything like what an engines PCV throws at these cans. The thing here is that JLT's design is just that basic and the can is so tiny it shows the true lack to control oil on a pull through design with the in and out side by side on the same face without being divided or separated. Now throw two important variables at the JLT and you have an oil strainer that catches 20% of the oil that goes through it at best.

The two variables that no one that sees this video even thinks of is that to run a test like this you need the oil to be at operating temperature to be a mist or vapor like the engine sees during operation. Now to really add to it is you need 15lbs to 25lbs of vacuum and this would have completely changed the outcome of this test.

Oil is very thick when it's cold and that is the key to proper condensing in a catch can from using a remote location and longer lines to allow the oil to cool. The true physics involved are being completely overlooked across the board here and that is why I always state how little manufacturers know about true and engines true PCV function. I know this might seem redundant but UPR is making so many changes to the oil separation systems for so many applications.

You will all see the industry change and start building better systems and follow many of the improvements we are making. Oil separation has become very important in the quest for longevity, performance and reliability with manufacturers trying so hard to deliver more reliable vehicles and performance they are depending on evacuating the crankcase properly to increase these things. But they never considered the effects of the high vacuum levels pulling so much oil through the engines.

Either way is better to show how critical proper oil separation is with the new demand on PCV systems. MAK performance runs our front mount 5030-98 and they collected almost 6 ounces of oil in the first 3000 miles on a bone stock 2015 GT before they installed the supercharger, now if the Bob's and JLT did that they would get overfilled and draw straight oil through their systems.

Feel free to contact MAK to verify that as they are among the few that have extensive experience with oil separators.

Just a bit of information I wanted to share.
