Bob's Ultimate Oil Separator -WOW!

Our kits use OEM Custom Plug n Play fittings. They don't require to be tightened or loosened to install the lines or remove them. Our system is much more evolved kit with True push button fittings that also allow the lines to swivel and relax in their natural position. It make installing and servicing the UPR Single Valve Catch Can System a breeze.

Also we run a dedicated one way valve on the clean side line to improve the scavenging / oil collection process. As much as I like the AN fittings they are a PITA to have to deal with anytime you want to service your system or work on your engine.

Plus the most important reason to go with the 5030-98 is the fact that you can remove the can immediately after driving and it remains cool enough you can always touch it without getting burned. This also represents how much cooler it will allow the oil to get to force proper condensing and coalescing. Other systems that mount on the strut tower basically maintain the oil temperature and do not allow it to cool and condense properly.

This is 530 miles on the car with Bob's. Put it on with about 10 miles on the car.

turned the ball valve and let it drain for a good 5 min to get it all out.

There's a good teaspoon to 1.5 teaspoons. That's a red solo cup for sake of size.

That's a lot for only 500 miles.

Here is an update from me. Just did my second oil change after swapping out the OEM oil about 5000 miles ago with Mobile 1. I believe I put Bobs on not to far after I changed my oil so this is probably around 4000 miles worth.

Definitely worth installing!

That's nice to see as his system is one of the only other Mustang systems we have tested that works close to our system. Other than UPR or Bobs system you should steer clear of all the very small can out there as they have pull through internals and let as much oil through as they catch.

I have run the Bob's can for most of my 14 GT's life and really like the can and the design. Recently I installed one of UPR's new 4 chamber firewall mount cans to try out because I was interested in their new design.

I checked the can the other day after driving the car for 255 miles to see how it was doing. The can had about 1/2 a teaspoon in the can and the part that I was happy about was that I did not find any signs of oil or oil residue in the fitting on the exit side of the can after running a new clean Q-tip inside the fitting.

I did do one modification to my UPR can. I added some extra SS mesh inside the bottom of the can. One of the features I like about the Bob's can is that the mesh is at the bottom of the can to hold the oil down so it doesn't slosh around when the car is driven and become airborne inside the can.

I know that the UPR can has the SS mesh ring and the perforated diffuser rings that help prevent oil from getting to the exit but I wanted to add an extra measure.

Out of the three other catch cans I have tried on this car, this is the first time I have found no signs of oil at the exit side. Even the Bob's can shows a slight film at the exit on my car. I plan on driving the car about a 1,000 miles before checking again to see if I still get the same results with the UPR can.

Bottom line is that I wouldn't hesitate to use either can, especially since my UPR results look very promising.

I find the amount of oil being pulled out interesting. Especially with this being seen in the previous engine.

Why wouldn't Ford Engineers work on this or fix it?

Also is the oil separator creating pressure that would cause more oil then usual come up into the system?

It all seems like a cool project.

I drove the car an additional 278 miles and this time I did find some signs of oil on a clean Q-tip that I stuck inside the fitting exiting the can. I also checked the fitting that connects to the intake and found a very slight sign of oil on a clean Q-tip put inside the fitting.

I also found that after handling the hoses, my hands were black from the hose covering and I actually had to wash my hands before it would come off. Not sure what that is about but I hope that oil is not seeping through the hose.

It is the material that Goodyear l Continental uses seems to sweat the color a bit. I see the same thing with the hose but the overall performance and longevity of the hose is the biggest reason we use it.

You will never have any issue with our Pro-Series Hoses doing anything but performing flawlessly.

BTW, thank you for the sharing all the information and working with us. Did you get the solid diffuser shield or the perforated one in your system. I'm working on a dual solid setup which is an additional improvement. I will send you one to test as soon as they are ready.

Yep the hoses have quite a bit of crap on em, I didn't notice it before wiping sweat off my brow-->:doh:

I must be doing something wrong, I have slight difficulty getting the fittings off so I can dump the can-->:shrug:

Here is a pic of my 2nd clean out (Car has 3000 miles now) UPR can does a great job, but next time I'm gonna use throw away rags to try and remove the fittings + keep the crap off of my hands and face-->

Thanks for the information on the hoses Joe. No problem on sharing my results. I like to be able to give people some idea what to expect and what I have experienced.

I would definatily like to test out anything new you come up with. I like that you are continually trying to improve your products.

I'm assuming I got the perforated diffuser shield. Here is a picture of what I got in my kit.

Are you saying you are having a hard time unscrewing the bottom of the can to dump the can or are you talking about disconnecting the fitting that are on the hoses?

It looks like you are catching quite a bit of oil. How many miles did you drive to catch that amount?
