So I installed the Ford Performance Oil Air Separator today. 2019 Ford GT Convertible with GT Performance Package. I noted that the oil pressure gauge fluctuated from 20 up to 100 while driving. I never paid attention to the gauge before I installed the OAS so I don't have anything to compare it to. I should have done that but did not. It is about 10 degrees here in Wisconsin when I took out for a drive short drive. There are no leaks anywhere. So, is this normal? I am contemplating removing the unit and then driving it to see if I get the same readings. Of course, that would be a pain but doable. Any ideas? Need I be worried? Should I remove it?

the air/oil separator can’t have any impact on oil pressure
Pressure will fluctuate based on oil temperature/viscosity and engine rpms
Totally normal.

The car wouldn't know you installed an AOS; the only difference is oil is getting condensed (at least some) in the catch can, rather than going into the engine. I decided to install one as well, since my car is consuming a little bit of oil after all, so decided to pull the trigger on one. Was expecting a FP decal, but no dice. Oh well. Will drain it with every oil change by unscrewing the top, and clean it perfectly at the same time.

I’m not sure why there was such wild fluctuations, but I uninstalled it and reinstalled the original hoses. The oil pressure gauge return to normal. I then removed the hoses and reinstalled the AOS and everything worked perfectly. There were no more wild fluctuations and the oil pressure gauge remained consistent with what it had been without the AOS on. The only thing I suspect is that perhaps I did not connect to the hoses tight enough although they all “clicked” when I inserted them. Who knows? But it is working now.
