Hi all. I don't drive the car much during the week so I am just noticing that the mirrors are not lighting up to let me know someone is there anymore when it was working from day one.

I am thinking that when I had the recall done it was reset just like my Mymode.

I went into the driver assist on the dash on blind spot is turned on yet they will not light when someone is next to me. They both light up when I start the car.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sorry, which recall are you talking about? I don't recall getting a notice for my 21 for anything that had a fix yet... In any case, if it only started happening after the recall, my first thought would be to ask the dealer to take a quick look. I know many of us, for good reason, are reluctant to take the car to a dealer for work, though. Aside from that, the good ol turn it off and back on (disconnect/reconnect battery) is all I can think of.

Sorry I can't be more help.

There were two that I put off for a long time until I got to FL.

One was the brake reservoir not letting you know it was low with the sensor and the other was a steering thing.

Both required an update. I believe one was the PCM and the other was the BCM(?).

When you start the vehicle, I'm guessing it is only a cycling of only "part" of the blind spot system being activated

It sounds like there could be an interface with the side sensors (that is not part of the power on start test (like computer POST)) that has been disconnected.

I don't know why, with the 2 recalls you had performed, that someone would fiddle with a connection to the side sensors. I wonder if there's a code being generated during the startup self test that is not displaying as an active issue on the dash.

I would think you are right. Why would they touch it. They told me nothing would change but I knew I lost mymode as soon as I started the car.

I will be at Ford Friday to get running boards on the Bronco.

I will stop in and talk to my service provider.

I looked the the fuse diagram and I will check that tomorrow. It controls BLIS, rear defroster and VDC.

Just to let everybody know who might have the same problem. I pulled the fuse and the fuse was fine and I guess it maybe just needed to be disconnected and reconnected because once I did that everything worked fine. Very weird.

So needed to unplug/replug the fuse, not the battery? I wonder if disconnecting/reconnecting the battery also would have done the trick (although good chance you tried that already).

The battery was going to be my next step before I went to the dealer.

I was just checking the fuse to see if it was blown. I had no idea putting it back would work.

It sounds like problems in the 1980's with some computers where every once in a while you had to unplug the computer to truly reset it. (Just turning the computer's power switch off and on did not remove residual electricity which was permitting a fault to remain energized.)
