Hi, I have a 21 auto Mach. Lately my throttle has been going dead for a second when I take off from a stop. I'll take off normally and shortly after the throttle will die for a second and then take off again. It only lasts a second or two and it doesn't do it all the time. No codes and I checked under the hood and everything looks fine. Im assuming its the throttle anyway and not trans related. Anybody else experience this?

Do you mean as soon as you step on the gas there is a hesitation before the car decides to rev up? If so, yes I have this issue. I’m a ā€˜16 6r80 though...

No idea what’s causing it and have checked everything. Never a code or cel.

No, if I'm stopped at an intersection and take off it may do it about half way through the intersection.

Is this is hard takeoff? Might be your traction control. My 14GT would do it if I took off hard it would almost spin then the traction control would kill power for a sec then resume.

next thing I would try is to isolate which drive modes this happens in, it could be all.

If it does, I would try it in all drive modes but with traction control and AdvanceTrac off, that is push and hold the brake for a few seconds while pushing traction switch up.

Basically we are trying to simplify the inputs between your throttle and the rest of the car.

Kinda the same here, 21 GT premium, 9,000 miles. It definitely got my attention but just reminds me of the muscle cars ā€œback in the day ā€œ.
Just give some more pedal and it will jerk your head back 😁

Hmmm, throttle response on my 6spd is sharp in sport mode, like the car is rearing to go. A little bit of throttle input and its wanting to take off. I would do a MAF spray as someone suggested, maybe some throttle body cleaner. If it still acts up, take it in to get warranty paperwork on it at least. This problem would bother me and electronic repairs can be expensive.

I know it will be hard for a technician to detect who doesn't drive it everyday. Always ask for an accompanied ride along to help them diagnose, some dealers will allow this, others will not.

To actually diagnose the problem, I think the techs will have to drive it while monitoring real time scan data to examine the commanded values from your sensors compared to their actual outputs to see if something is funky.

Hmm,
I haven't really experienced anything like that since owning my c7 Vette. That was an issue with those and I ended up going with a ported TB from Tony Mamo.

I saw that Soler engineering was designing one for the 6gen but haven't heard anything about it. You can try and search on the forum.

This only ever happened to me when I was in 10th gear and manual mode by some paddle mistake and wanted to get on it. Otherwise no, one second is a lot of time and this beast responds fast as a lightning, even in D it downshifts appropriately to pedal input.

Thanks for the replies. I may try the maf spray although I think the issue is electronic but it cant hurt. I'm going to hold off on taking it to the dealer for now. The car will be going in winter storage in about a month and I know the dealer isn't going to be able to replicate it since it's infrequent. If it does it more often I will though.

@KBR Stang if you believe it is electronic, then probably your chance to capture it is by using something like FORScan and recording the telemetry from your car during rides. Depends on whether at least you could replicate it.
