Hi Guys,

Getting ready to upgrade to brembo 6 piston caliper. New rotors and pads along w new front & back stainless steel lines, set up soon and want to ask is there any special procedure that needs to be done?
Does ignition have to be turned ON, but not started to properly bleed?
On brembo dual bleeder screws, which do you bleed first?

Thanks, Anthony

I would say bleed the one closest\same side the brake line is attached.

Thanks for reply. W key on, engine off? Or key on, engine running? I had a 2016 ford fusion and you had to bleed w key on. Engine off. Weird shit.
Thanks Anthony

Normally its farthest caliper from the master cylinder to the closest (abs makes it maybe not matter so much if they don't share any lines from the master cylinder. I'm not sure if they do so I follow the conventional order)

For the two bleed screws on the front calipers, bleed inside, outside, inside (so bleed the inside side twice).

This can all be done with the car off by one person if you're using a pressure bleeder.

soo...
Right Rear
Left Rear
Right front inside, RF outside, RF inside
Left front inside, LF outside, LF inside.

There's a procedure to bleed the ABS module (if you ever need to), but you need a laptop and Forscan, and it requires like two or three full fluid flushes.

What kind of fluid did you use for your bleed?

Ford low viscosity DoT4 stuff is the stock fluid. If you're not tracking the car, I'd use that. The track fluids may absorb water faster and need to be flushed more regularly.

Consider one of these to make things a lot easier. I use it dry, and just watch the level in the reservoir, and fill as needed, much less messy than filling the bleeder tank with fluid.

For whatever reason, Ford actually spec's really good brake fluid. It's not quite the temp resistance of modern racing fluids, but it's not far off. A long time ago, Ford heavy-duty brake fluid *was* what a lot of people would use for racing. I bet, as long as it's fresh, it will take more abuse than most people will throw at it.

Btw - in the manual Ford says that while bleeding rear calipers - to cycle handbrake 5 times - since I was bleeding mine yesterday, there was bubble that came out on each side after I've done that.
Not a huge deal, but why not do it.
