I'm in the process of upgrading my base GT brakes to Brembos and was wondering what parts I need for this upgrade.

So far I know I need:
1. Calipers
2. pads
3. rotors
4. dust shields
5. calipers bolts
6. caliper pins
7. banjo bolts and washers

It's mostly the hardware aspect that has me confused. Does anyone happen to have a complete list of parts numbers for the upgrade?

You shouldn't need 5-7. Loctite the caliper to spindle bolts.

I have been looking into this as well just for future knowledge and found 2 different Ford Racing kits that has me confused as well. One kit is the base parts you would think you would need for the GT350 brakes but the other has axles and spindles and all kinds of other parts. Both kits say they are for all non-Shelby versions of the s550 chassis so I am curious why one includes so many extra parts?

The GT350 calipers are radial mount and have a unique spindle for that and track width changes.

So to upgrade a base GT to the Shelby brakes it requires the more expensive kit with the axles and all that? Who is the "cheaper" calipers and rotors and small parts kit being sold to?

This one is to upgrade a GT/EB to GT350 brakes all around. The fronts require an adapter and the rear requires a new spindle.

The other I've found is to go from GT350 brakes to GT350R brakes, which is only a cosmetic difference.

Makes sense then. Didn't realize people would pay that much just for different color calipers. I'd pull them off and powdercoat them lol

Thank's for the reply. Do the caliper bolts from the 4 pistons work on the 6 pistons then? Also, I guess I just need the crush washers and I can re-use the banjo bolts?

I did see a few people saying you need the caliper pins, which only come as a set from ford with some other parts for like $35+ per side?

Like BmacIL said, that's for the GT350 and GT350R kit. You can piece together a GT PP Brembo kit for about $900. It's 15" instead of 15.5" and doesn't come with the 2 piece rotors like the GT350 kits, but is significantly cheaper and easier to install and you can always get the Steeda 2 piece rotor set if you wanted to save some more weight.

Yes you can reuse them. You'll only need pins if the calipers you buy don't have them.

Hey brotha I just did this upgrade within the past month. I chose to go with new Lines and banjo bolts because I'm selling the ones attached to the 4 pistons and it was easy during the install to just disconnect the old and reconnect the new line at the hard point already attached to the new caliper. Splash shields part numbers are FR3Z2K004H and FR3Z2K005H,
oem banjo bolts are W712276-S430, and washers W712276-S430 (i went aftermarket washers cause they were significantly cheaper). Get your pins and anti-rattle clips from Optimum Performance ($17.99 for both sides).

Thanks. I did see them but wasn't sure how the quality was compared to OEM, or if it matters for the pins and clips?

My big want is to replace the stupid rear setup. I don't care about 15" vs 15.5" rotors or them being 2 piece or not. Just tired of looking at the terrible rear setup Ford gave us.

They feel pretty good to me, I figured OPMustang had a good reputation so I went with them.
