Black Appearance Package Taillights

Darker chrome inside makes it look tinted...

Well, unless someone else can confirm otherwise, my 2016 EB Premium w/PP has the taillights seen in the upper pic. I even looked at them closely in daylight and they have the dark or black appearance to them - they are not bright red or totally transparent red like the bottom image shows.

I don't care what your dealer says, they are wrong a lot of the time.

That's a fact when I first went shopping for a new Mustang I knew more about the car than they did. They couldn't tell the difference between a V6 and a Ecoboost.

I have a CS and just bought the black 5.0 badges for $30 and moved on. The package is way to expensive for what you get.

The 19" wheels and tires are worth it alone if you are eventually going to upgrade to 19" wheels. I sold my Black accent package wheels alone for $500. 19" tires are going to cost way more than the $1,000 you pay for the entire black accent package.

Ford likes to recycle everything. The chrome around the taillights are from the 50 Year appearance package. The 19" wheels in the Black Accent package are from the 50Year appearance package painted black. Nothing is ever exclusive.

You're right, I did notice my Black Accent package did have recycled wheels.

The 17+ black appearance package wheels is what he is referring to. The 16's were unique to that package only.

It has been confirmed already, they are in fact different from regular tails and 50 year tails. Whats chrome BEHIND the red lens on the regular & 50 year tails is black NOT chrome therefore making them look darker. It has also been confirmed by a friend who is parts manager and there are 3 different part numbers and the ones in the black appearance package are $1360 each compared to $933 for regular and $943 for 50 year tails.


Most people have dealers who don't know anything about these cars but I have a 40 year experienced part owner who does all the ordering and I have personally seen the screen in his system that confirms different tails.

This is exactly what I'm referring to. The red lens is not tinted but the inside has been darkened to give an overall tinted look.

Because I'm finding that online, some sites are listing conflicting information descriptions vs. the Ford part numbers.
