Bought my 2019 off the showroom floor 2/24 for 5K under sticker. Drove 100 miles to get it.
There were a few closer, but dealers were still asking MSRP or over.
Forget the 18's get the updated engine in the 19.

Online pricing is not locked in stone. My dealer started at $55K for my 2018 and we settled on $49K. There is lots of wiggle room in those online prices. Just gotta be persistent and have patience. It took me 4 weeks going back and forth the get the price I wanted.
you got a New 2018 at 49k? What did it have one it?

No, I bought it last year, it had 1400 miles and 75% of the factory warranty. It was loaded with what I wanted (electronics package, Recaro's, over the top racing stripe, etc). An older gentleman bought it, drove it for like 4 months, and then traded it in on an automatic Z06 (bought it from a GM dealer).

I personally think there is a balance between dealerships having a "fire sale" and offering more "aggressive pricing with a lower profit margin". The quickest way to go out of business is to start selling things at a loss; All indications are that this covid-19 is not going to be a long term situation? Is it serious? yes.. Is it going to be completely over in a couple of weeks? probably not. But the dealerships still have to turn a profit. I think you will see lower prices, but no giveaways.
I do think the dealerships out there that are still trying to sell these at msrp or with an ADM are way off base. If they are still out there, they are the one's that should go out of business.
One other point, the used market pricing (2017/18) was been dropping steadily for months even before Covid started which is the natural depreciation effect of aging vehicles and 2019/2020 model years rolling out so closely + GT500 interest.

Yes, I get that. This dealer is asking $6,000 over sticker. Not realistic at this time when so many other cars are offered below sticker. I’ve negotiated many good deals on cars in the past.

Yeah dealers are silly. They must be hoping some moron may jump at that price, but the reality is that price scares away buyers who don't like to haggle. I am never scared to haggle online so I would just lowball them and go from there. If they don't want to play then you just move on to the next deal.

Bought my 19 brand new showroom floor for 58k. on Jan 24th. A day earlier my buddy found a 2018 with only 2k miles he paid 45K. I think he got the better deal
Agree anywhere around $58 for a $65 MSRP car is good. They are out there. Definitely for a 19.

Would the R be worth more in the long run?

if I was to get a R I would still trade out the wheels on it.

That was my feedback as well from friends in the area, they thought after GT500 release it would easy peasy for an R , all the dealers in the tri-boros still want over sticker. The dealers take is that with the automatic GT500 out the manual transmission days are numbered

Got almost 5k off mine. It was only sitting in the showroom for about a month. Fully loaded MSRP was 67k.

I couldn't wait for my custom order in Austin, TX (all black with all options GT350).

Doing a refinance now since I rushed it. If you get yours delivered, just tell the dealer to remove the front splitter (mine got damaged, just a pain to deal with their insurance).
