@NagareCame across that too, just not sure which one I'd need to fit our positive cable. I'm thinking it'll be either 557, 580, or 586.
After @abeauvier's post above, I did a search for the D3400R on eBay and came across a listing for a guy that was literally 6 minutes away from my buddies house where we met after C&C yesterday. Stopped by and tried a test fit, here are some pictures.
Seems like the box narrows down from the opening at the top as there were some lines from the battery about a 3/4-1" off the bottom. I bought it anyway and I'm going to try and make it work, I tried dremelling out the step at the bottom but that didn't take care of it from what I can tell. I didn't want to spend too much time in his driveway though! Without the cover on, I was still able to close the hood with no issues. If I can get the battery to sit lower in the box (maybe cut out the bottom corner), the cover will probably fit back on as well.
If it doesn't work out, the guy said he'll let me bring it back. Plus he apparently goes to the same Sunday meet I try to go to occasionally. Running a 24k watt system in his truck, he swapped out 6 D3400s for a big array of electric car batteries out of a C-Max.
Go with the smaller one unless you're comfortable cutting the battery box. I still have it sitting in my kitchen because I don't have anything to cut the box and I forget about it every time I see someone that does have the tools!Just wondering if you figured out the d3400? In need and deciding between the 47 and the 34. Have a 1400w amp, maybe upgrading in future up to 2500w. Thank you.
Did the xs4700 fit in without any modding ?
Ok cool thanks and that includes the hold down ? EricThe D4700 fits like a glove, no trimming or modding, cover fits on perfectly.
Cool thanks againYes, stock hold down works as well.
Did you ever get the 3400 to fit?Go with the smaller one unless you're comfortable cutting the battery box. I still have it sitting in my kitchen because I don't have anything to cut the box and I forget about it every time I see someone that does have the tools!
No I would have needed to change the power cables to fit it better because it was still going to hold the hood up the way I adjusted the battery box and posts anyway.Did you ever get the 3400 to fit?
The post sticking up was the problem? No I would have needed to change the power cables to fit it better because it was still going to hold the hood up the way I adjusted the battery box and posts anyway.
Your battery tender should not be an issue for the XS battery. I am fixing to order a D4700 myself.I have battery tenders, etc. I dont know how XS d4700 is different, but can the tenders be used on those too? are they different in any way that wouldn't let me slow charge/maintain them like a regular oem battery? or just moooooarrr juice
Looks like I have a couple pictures of it. If you move the posts towards the front of the car and have the cables bent down, it might work fine but I wasn't confident in that working without some more major cuts to the battery box and then you're close to touching the frame at the strut towers. The post sticking up was the problem?
