Just wondering if there is a consistent best choice for our cars?
I know the usual suspects but have never bought a set of S550 headers.
Thanks.

I don't own a GT500, but I would assume the same brands would still apply to that specific S550 platform. Kooks would be my pick for the top of the line, along with a few others.

Does anybody have a link to where just headers were installed and what difference was? I see lots with tunes, intake, etc. but canā€™t find any with a base line and then just exhaust.

Stainless Works, Kooks, ARH and Ultimate headers are all top brands and are very high quality. You really can't go wrong with any of those. We run the SW 2" headers on our Whipple powered 2020 GT500 and they fit/work great. I went 8.86@163 with the setup.

We carry them all here at Lethal Performance so feel free to reach out if there's anything we can help you with.

Do you guys have any base numberā€™s without and with any of those manufacturers?

On a GT500 - not particularly. The stock midpipe & cats are somewhat restrictive so expect ~ 25-35whp just from swapping to longtubes.

I need to find this thread for the regular GT as I'm looking at installing a Roush Phase 2 and am thinking while I'm at it I might as well do LTH.

Most brands will do just fine. If you are going to run e85 try to find headers that have the o2 sensor at an angle. This helps prevent moisture from fouling your o2 sensors.

Have killed 2 o2 sensors within a few months running e85.

See my post above.

Although in my opinion cheap headers like 2M will work fine if you arenā€™t running e85 / donā€™t care about replacing o2 every few months. Although 2M clearance for steering shaft is very tight and may require new mounts.

What do you define as ā€œbestā€? Thatā€™s such an ambiguous term. Whatā€™s best for me could be vastly different from whatā€™s best for someone else.
Perhaps ask more direct questions like ā€œanyone have issues with XXXX brands?ā€

Let me know if I can help out with some long tube headers. I've got LTH, I have options in stock ready to go.

Feel free to DM me or call with any questions!

I define best as having minimal install headaches and no clearance issues.
Iā€™m not new to the game and have installed many sets of headers.
For my GT500 Iā€™m only planning minimal mods (free flowing exhaust, more boost and E85) with a goal of 800-850rwhp.
I understand LTH are probably not necessary for those goals but I plan to keep this car and I feel LTHs are a better option on a supercharged car.
Each platform has their differences, so while Kooks and SW and ARH all make excellent products, Iā€™m looking for people that have experience help my choice.
For example, my 2ā€ ARH are tight/rub the steering shaft on my ā€˜14 where SW didnā€™t (but 1 7/8ā€ vs 2ā€).
Those are the details Iā€™m looking for as peak power isnā€™t my goal as much safety on the engine and keeping NVH to a minimum.
Thanks for the replies.

You just explained exactly what you could have said in your initial post. More clarity for what your looking for vs ā€œwhat is bestā€
