Well, as much as I was rooting for the 2M Fabrications headers, they're coming off and I've ordered Kook's. As I mentioned in my thread opener, the build quality, materials, etc., are really good, with no seemingly serious fitment issues, but my work around for the driver side wide band O2 (which means I did the same on both sides) interfering with the shift linkage didn't take.

Although I haven't installed these headers on a manual car, I'm not seeing any reasons they wouldn't work well, but, definitely not for a 10R80 car....at least, not my 10R80 car. According to what was revealed on FB, guys with autos are moving the bungs, or at least trying to, but I have no interest in that.

You're welcome to them Dude....the whole shebang. Catted and cat-less mid pipes, clamps, and spacers for narrow band.

Great thread, the ocd is strong with this one.

My kind of build right here, looking to do something similar with mine albeit less track, more street. Maybe I'll call mine "Street beater Bobby"?

Nice job, keep it up!

Thanks, Dude. The OCD tends to be a curse at times, but I'm definitely closer to getting to the part where I add boost.

It's definitely worth it, totally different car than that stock Mustang GT that I drove home from the dealer.

I'll be looking for a thread about the evolution of "Street Beater Bobby."

Ok, I've mentioned in a couple other threads that I ran into an issue with the 2M Fabrications headers. The 2Ms are longer than other headers which moves the upstream O2 sensors further downstream and long story short, the shift linkage (10R80 trans) hits the O2 sensor.

So, after right at six hours of work today, we (my nephew and son are handy wrenches) dropped the K-Member, dropped the oil pan (because I needed to replace the gasket), removed the starter and engine mounts, 2Ms came out, Kooks went in, and then reversed the process. Replacing the hanger studs for the K-Member is a pain, but there's a reason they're one-time-use.

Many know how I feel about 2M and why, so I'll speak now about Kooks.

They. Are. Friggin. Awesome.

The fit is far better than 2M, not that the 2Ms fit was bad at all, but the Kooks primary tubes are tucked closer to the block and they bent the tubes with a high amount of precision and more thought went into the design. There's tons of clearance for the steering shaft, A/C plumbing (if I had an A/C), and the O2 bungs are perfectly placed.

My son and I will button up the few remaining things tomorrow and we'll fire it up.

You guys got right on it and knocked it out in no time. I like it! Sounds nice and smooth too. I’m assuming you guys peeked underneath the timing cover too just for good measure and everything looked good?

Everything went well and it didn't take us long.....loving the way it sounds.

Not yet. I'm going to put a few more miles on it before doing a few things in the top end that requires me to pull valve covers, so I'll take a peak at the chain guide wear strips.

My son wanted to do some fly by's today so he could send the videos to his friends and I'm glad I agreed to it. I've been on the fence about how the car sounds and for a review, Kooks 1 7/8" LTHs, Cat delete, Steeda X Pipe, and OEM AE cat back.

The revs and standing start are pretty cool, but, to me, the fly by's are a bit too blatty. But, exhaust sound is a subjective area. I didn't want to stab it on the fly by's, so its a part throttle, single gear downshift.

It's a bit raspy for my tastes but I really have never heard a coyote that sounded great

I agree, I don't like the rasp and it's difficult to make a Coyote sound good.
