I ordered a v6 ruby red. 051a .auto trans. rear spoiler delete. enhanced security package. 3.55 rear. reverse park assist. A lot of comments about rental car I think not. I drove 5 new mustangs sure v8 is great!! Was not feeling the turbo Yahha engine. I am not going to chip it tune it or what ever going to put 150,000 miles on it and buy another. If I live that long in 60's now. V6 Mustang is faster quicker then my 68 Gto and handles better than any older corvette. and all at invoice. and regular gas
Don't care if you do or don'tTake a picture...otherwise don't believe you.

I went with the base model because for me the 4k upcharge was not worth it. As far as the quality, I am coming from a MKVI Volkswagen GTI and this is on par if not better. I cannot comment on the standard cloth seats but I will say the cloth Recaros are freaking awesome! I have driven many rental cars with MFT and I just don't like it honestly. I thought the base console area looked goofy in pictures before I got the car but in person I actually really like it. Does everything I need it to efficiently and has bluetooth and voice activated features. This is my DD with Recaros and Performance Package and I wouldn't have it any other way. As for driving modes, that would be nice but I plan to tune or at least get an FRPP track key which negates the need for the different modes. On mine I can put the traction/stability into sport or turn them both off completely.
You would get the 228i if you wanted bells and whistles? I think you would probably be well over $40K if you optioned a 228i with everything that's on a Premium Mustang, and that's if you can even get everything that's available (or standard) on the Mustang.I chose the base GT because I want the car to focus on performance and not touch screen and other interior upgrades.
If I wanted all the bells and whistle I would go with the 228i BMW, I want this car to be a performance focused and blast to drive down these VA back roads.
Thats why I opted for the PP due to the brakes and various upgrades. I also chose the Security $395 and Back Up Sensors for $295 its a no brainer thats nothing when your going to make this a 10 - 12 year car. Im only 24 and I plan on keeping this for a long long time. (My father has a 1979 Mustange he bought new in 1979 and still has it I would like to do the same thing)
On the interior I think the Recaro Cloth seats will be great for performance driving, I do not plan to drive this long road trips so cloth is perfect! I know people say the sound system can be better but Also I hear the Shaker system is nothing special. I also think the smaller screen would be better when trying to drive instead of the distraction of a touch screen.
Personally its all about what you want the car to be and how you want to drive the car. I will tune the car and do many upgrades, the driving modes seem nice but the tune will do the same thing. I just got to be patient until my car comes in :ford:
I'm paying just over $43K for my Mustang. I could have gotten a similarly equipped M235i through USAA's car-buying service for about $44K -- negligible difference. You would get the 228i if you wanted bells and whistles? I think you would probably be well over $40K if you optioned a 228i with everything that's on a Premium Mustang, and that's if you can even get everything that's available (or standard) on the Mustang.
I just finished reading an article in one of the rag mags (C&D I think) where they described how 'ridiculously overpriced' the 2-series are from a features and amenities standpoint compared to the Mustang, and also with respect to power if that's what you're looking for. Basically they characterized the 228 as a stripper performance coupe a la BMW of old. Handles awesomely, but is that alone worth a huge price premium? Probably not to most folks in the market for a Mustang.
Not Trying to derail my own thread here, but it's worth comparing the features and value of the Mustang to other cars in the class, and I always hear of folks cross-shopping the 2-series with the Mustang, and I just don't get it. From a track performance standpoint, maybe, but if you basically pimp out an M235 to get anywhere near the same level of power and amenities of a Mustang Premium (235 is still more comparable to the EB than the GT IMO), you are WELL above $50K. That's getting into GT350 territory, or at least c7 Corvette! I just can't wrap my head around the 2 series from a value standpoint.
