i would think having magneride is a game changer so you can have a more comfortable ride for daily but with a flip of a switch can go to a stiffer setting for some fun. If I got a GT350 I would go for a higher package just for that alone. Cooled seats on a track day also is extremely nice

the price is the base models strongest point, and if thats your budget then theres nothing wrong with that. you don't need to stretch yourself so thin, enjoy the car you get.

just from what i am currently experiencing though, the wait from when you order to when you actually get the car might give you time to soften the blow of the additional 6.5K. if your are ready to buy now, consider where you will be in a few months and see if that makes it possible for you.

I built and priced a 16 350 base with tech in DIB with Black Roof and Stripes. Still contemplating trading the 50th but the track pack would be useless for me. I don't track my cars and don't plan on it either so it's wasted $$$

I have my name down at the dealer for a 2017 base. I can't justify $6500 just for MRC, which is really the only thing I would want.

I hope there is a decent review of the base model, but I feel like everything that will be tested will be a tech or track pack.
Who knows what will happen in 2017, I could see them making the MRC standard and upping the MSRP.

Well I imagine a 1%-3% jump in MSRP for inflation, but I'm hoping different colors and just a magnaride option like the Corvette or Camaro. ADM will have calmed down because there will be unsold 2016's on dealer lots by the time 2017 goes live which I was told January 2016 by my dealer.

Your dealer thinks the 2017 GT350 will be "live" in less than 60 days... :headbonk:

I recently ordered a base race red no stripe GT350. like many members I would of liked to have the magneride but I couldn't justify the cost. It is at the top of my price range. The radio doesn't bother me and I don't like the leather seats. it is a lot of bang for your buck. All that matters to me is that it has that 5.2 V8.:hail:

By live I meant dealers should know allocations and order guides opening up for it, according to the sales manager. I used to work at dealerships while going to school, I don't believe anything one says, and don't necessarily believe what he said.

Obviously I meant a 2017 GT350 sitting on the lot.  Maybe he meant information on the 2017. but I did specifically ask about ordering a 2017.

^^^ Well I do agree there will be more colors to choose from, if fact I think there will be more colors to choose from in the mid-spring for the MY2016's that have not been built. (Please do not ask where I heard this from, lets say a little bird, and leave it at that) For MY2017 it will be a given, and a boost no doubt in HP & TQ. I would not expect any details on the MY2017 until April, May 2016...IMO

I don't think there's any precedent for a brand new engine to get a power boost in its second year of production.

I was on the fence between the Base and the Track Package and money was and is still an issue but I went for the package. Why? Because after many different reviews of this and other vehicles, I considered how much the ride, body roll, break dive, and squatting would be affected by not having MagneRide. I am not a professional driver, nor will this vehicle spend most of its time on the track, but if I am spending so much money to get this car in the first place, I decided to go a little more to squeeze more refinement.

Consider how much the Mustang's driving improved with the IRS suspension introduced, consider the key areas affected, now add what an active suspension will focus on and analyze the potential gains. Just my opinion. Either configuration equals great value and an amazing car. Hopes this helps someone out there.

The LS6 first used in the 2001 Z06 for a 20 hp bump in 2002. Of course, this isn't GM we're talking about, but it isn't entirely unprecedented, though I don't think it is going to happen.

Did not the 2011 Mustang GT have a 100 HP bump over the 2010 GT? Not sure if this qualifies...secondly do YOU know what ford is doing for the 2016 Mustang GT yet? do you know if it has a power bump in the second year? Ford better do something ..if its going to keep up with Camaro on the standard Mustang GT for 2016....let see if Im right....I think I am:thumbsup:

Well, that clearly doesn't qualify because it wasn't a new engine getting a power bump in its second year of production. If there has been a bump between 2011 and 2012 it would meet the specified criterion. No one is saying cars never increase in power.

Also, I would say that he definitely does know what Ford is doing with the 2016 Mustang GT, as the specs are listed on Ford's website stating it remains at 435 hp and 400 ft/lbs of torque..
