From the pics, it doesn’t look like those are the original wheels. The angles on the front wheels don’t seem to show the inner coated wheel barrels. Could just be the photos though.
Hmm. I dont see the ceramic coating either.

I couldn’t be happier. I feel fortunate to have my favorite combo come up for sale locally. I LOVE the purity of purpose of the GT350R base. I plan on holding this car for a long time.

Congratulations on the purchase of such a cool car!

Of the 526 GT350R models built for the 2016 MY, the FRAP assembled 64 Base R models of which 17 examples came in Oxford White.

Of those 17 OW Base R models there were 3 Oxford White Base R models that were allocated and shipped to Ford dealerships in Canada therefore GR287 is 1 of 14 units ordered in OW for the U.S.

Based on my research your 2016 GT350R Base model is 1 of 136 examples built during the 4-year production run therefore a very rare and desirable unit for sure.

Thanks PP0001. I truly feel honored to be the custodian of such a special vehicle.
A little of my background, my last sports car was a 2011 BMW M3. Similar to the secondary market for GT350R's, most M3 owners selected the Technology package that includes i-drive (BMW's nav and screen). I've always been drawn to sports cars without technology. Screens age cars terribly. I was on the hunt for a stripped down version of the e92 M3. In the M3 community, these cars are now the most valuable and are referred to as "Strippers" or "Single Hump" cars (as they have a single hump on the dash as opposed to two humps for the cars with the nav screen).
The Shelby GT350 was always a car of interest for me, but I never had an opportunity to actually drive one. In the last few months, my automotive search included driving a Dark Horse and Mach 1. Great cars, but I just can't stand all the screens. I really wanted a car with a pure focus on the driving experience. On December 24th, I test drove a 2018 GT350. It was all over after that. I knew that was the car I wanted. It was only a matter of finding the right one. As I researched more, I was surprised to see how affordable the GT350R models are (compared to the std GT350). I believe that the R's will start to separate themselves from the standard GT350s very soon, but it also represents an opportunity to get the car I desired more, the GT350R. As I started to then research the GT350R models, I learned about the elusive BASE model... This was clearly my dream car, but I didn't want to get my hopes up too high with such a limited production run. I figured that they'd be out of reach for me financially.
When GR287 popped up for sale locally, it was listed at $88k, which I believe is an appropriate price for the car. I however was able to watch it and get it for substantially less.
I purchased this car because I love it and plan to keep it for a long time. I expect that the GT350R base will be worth the most in the future, though this isn't exactly why I purchased. I'm just convinced that the secondary market hasn't caught up to how rare and special these cars are just yet.

@PP0001 what is the logic behind the GT350R lettering/numbering? Are the cars individually numbered? Does GR signify the color combo (and year)? What's with the numbering? I haven't been able to logically sort it out yet...

Edit: I think I figured it out...
G is 2016 (F is 2015, H 2017... etc), R denotes GT350R and the number is sequential production numbers. Therefore, GR287 is the 287th GT350R manufactured in 2016.
Correct?

Correct?
Yes, the first digit of the chassis number of a regular production GT350R vehicle indicates the model year and in the case of the two-seat cars the 2nd digit confirms that it is an R model.

The last 3 digits confirm the build sequence for that vehicle as they came down the FRAP line.

When it comes to the 14 pre-production Base R models (all of which were allocated to the U.S.) in most cases those chassis numbers would start with TT (Tooling Tryout), PP (Pilot Production) or MP (Mass production) and typically followed by 3 digits.

Having said that there were a few examples of pre-production Base R models that came with a regular production chassis number such as "HR001".

Based on chassis number HR001 which looks to be a regular production 2017 Base R model but in fact it was a Tooling Tryout example and was the only pre-production Base R model produced for the 2017 MY and was built in early March 2016.

For the 2018 MY there were also 2 examples of pre-production vehicles that came with a regular chassis number but those 2 vehicles were actually Pilot Production vehicles and came with chassis numbers JRXXX and JRXXX.

Lastly, with respect to the number of delete items that come on a 2015 to 2018 Shelby GT350R Base model compared to a standard 4-seat Shelby GT350, I came up with 16 delete items and suggest that you will have fun locating them all!

Ah yes… the steering wheel radio controls.
I also omitted the resonator delete.
