I just got the MGW as well and I did the same research as you on the three different brands. I'm glad I went with MGW it's a solid piece and you can feel the quality straight out the box.

Doesn't the new barton use all new hardware, none of the stock pieces?Looked like a nice piece to me and really liked the new flat blade handle.Mgw is going to be hard to beat though, just wish they had different handle options.

We have a 10 percent off sale going on all this week code MGWHUMBUG

We also will have a flat stick version coming out VERY soon. We already finished the GT500 one and the MT-82 is next on the list!!!

We have 2 throw upper options and 2 handle options so you can get as mild or wild as you want with throw.

There are other options out there for sure but the race spec is STILL the best most engineered option out there.

and throw reduction breakdown...

George
Hey George,

I ordered an MGW yesterday with the standard setup (15% throw reduction). Does it still have the off center resting position in the console or was that addressed? Thank you!

ordered mgw shifter x spec std height during black friday sale and got it installed last week. vibration is there but its a heck of a shifter! 1-2 is precise and 2-3 and 4-5 is awesome. reverse and 5-6 took a little effort for me .

Is there any other NVH increase besides vibration. I know there should be just a little bit of gear whine. How bad does it vibrate?

I have not heared any gear whine. Regarding vibrations, with all the padding and rubber that surrounds the shifter, i can see the shift knob moving while the engine is on. Remember it's a trans mount shifter so vibrations is gonna be there and I can live with that.

I've had a Bluefish bracket on before and that solid mounted the stock shifter to the trans. It caused vibrations and a bit of gear whine. The vibrations could be heard cause the reverse lockout was rattling. Since MGW doesn't have the lockout anymore, I think it should be quiet inside the cabin with the vibrations. Thank you.

Well shoot, I am in the middle of installing mines and just saw this :eyebulge:

Will there be a way to switch the current MGW stick for the new flat stick later or will we have to get a whole new shifter?

I'll give an unbiased opinion on this topic. I had a MGW race spec in my last S550 and now have a blowfish bracket in my current S550.

Not that big of a difference between the two in regards to feel of the shifts to be 100% honest. Stock shifter with the blowfish is just as smooth and precise in regards to shifts. The MGW just feels a bit more robust and has a little less vibration. For the money I would honestly take the blowfish over the MGW.

Don't get me wrong, the quality and craftsmanship that goes in to every single component of the MGW is amazing. The blowfish bracket does just about everything the MGW does with a easier install and less than half the price tag.
