We OVER engineer the springs for both the 1-2 and the reverse lockout because all springs get a SET and lose about 10-15 percent of their force after a few hundred cycles.
give it about a month and you will love the action and feel. as far as going into 1st at a standstill USE THAT hardened...
Thats a GREAT idea to mark the crossmember. I will look into adding it to the notes on the video.,
We leave ALL the GT350 shifters loose deliberately on the 1-2 lockout because people were NOT adjusting it and then complaining that it was not engaging 1-2 properly. There are a lot of variances...
you can JUST buy the stem for your gripepr to make it weighted . you dont have to buy a whole knob. thats the joy of the modular design we have!!

You have to understand the physics of the shifter and arc throw...
two things will affect the distance of the throw....the pivot position and the height of the knob. So if you do NOT move the pivot but simply lower the knob height you can still shorten the throw. ( Boomba does this )
You can...
Due to the height of the flat stick ALL of them are mated with the x-spec base so that you get the comparable throw of the regular one like you asked for. This is by design not by mistake.

when you actually attach the shifter to your car this will be a TOTAL non issue.
We always ( and most other shifter companies do as well ) make the 1-2 spring a little stronger than the 5-6 spring. It amplifies the return springs that are already internal to the trans. When you install it ...
if you have the gt350 knob then goto the gt350 shifter page on our site and get THAT oem adapter. will work better.

You will need 2 things...
A good trans mounted shifter that also replaces the crappy oem linkage rod so no kinking when shifting hard.
A good clutch upgrade. High rpm shifts are just iffy at best with the stock clutch.
The MT-82 isnt perfect but it isnt the dogshit everyone claims it to be...
We will have them on the site soon. But you can email me anytime and i can get you pics of what any combo you need looks like.

The new uppers are offset to the left now but the shifter will still be slightly more to the right because you have TWO gates on the left and only one on the right,
email me a pic of the upper to make sure it has the 15-18 but i am betting its fine.
also you can adjust it even more if...
Although the Race spec does require about 500 miles to break in you should not have that type of reaction . I install them here EVERY week and get nothing but smiles driving out the shop road from daily drivers to seasoned racers.
If you did a clutch job also you better make sure it has not had...
