I don't know what the bad rap is coming from people about Bama tunes, I have the ford performance package for my 21 GT with the 87MM TB and GT350 CAI. I wasnt impressed with the Ford Performance tune at all ...shifting was erratic and power wasnt there ..... Since I had my SCT tune device with free tunes for life with bama performance, I contacted them about my set up with the TB and CAI ... along with my Cat back exhaust. I have to say this car rips...runs perfectly and 10x better then the Ford Performance tune. I say before people rip apart Bama not being VMP/Lund .... I'd say give them a try ... for NA Applications I think they are perfect to use .... obviously ... if youre going boost ...vmp,lund, or custom dyno tunes are going to be better ...but for basic bolt ons intake, headers, TB, exhaust shit like that ...Bama works and works well ...

I've never had an issue with them ... I've been using them for a solid 4-5 months now ...and I did venture off and get a BrenSpeed tune to see what they are about...... and I had nothing but issues with my car running lean ...because of the Roush Intake I had a that time they couldnt tune for it with the insert removed so the car kept running lean ...one day my car just turned off going down the road. ..after that I just stuck with my Bama tune ...and I've smoked a lot of cars out there an other mustangs running lund,VMP, and dyno tunes on NA setups .... out side of headers I am FBO ... and right now I dont think the cost of headers are worth the power gains I will receive ..I've seen Gen 3 mustangs with just a cat delete gain the same power numbers as long tubes ....

Just curious as why you won`t just start with buma (or other aftermarket brands)

The whole point of the Ford performance tune is that its more warranty friendly. Its not the best tune lol.

I mean, I've never had a tune from any others, so I've always heard that Lund and PBD and others were better, but have no experience to back it up.

But the Bama tune noticeably livened up my car. And in the two plus years with it, I've never had any issues... the car runs great and passes inspection.

No complaints

I used them for my 2012 and honestly thought it was ok back then until I ended up going with Lund and the differences were completely night and day imo. The Bama tune, at least in my situation was super conservative where as the Lund tune was safe and still made killer power in comparison. I'm sure for the average build the Bama tune will do its job for most out there however.

So do you have any back to back tests, whether on the dyno or drag strip, of the 2 tunes?

You're really one of the first people to complain about the Ford tune, and one of the few to compliment Bama tunes. It's either all in your head, or you work for Bama.

On my 2017 FBO I had both a Bama tune and an ortiz tune. The Bama tune was a great daily tune for my long commute that still got great mileage and they had no problem tuning the gt350 Im and TB. Now it was very conservative the ortiz tune was much faster and much more aggressive. So if you want a safe driving tune stick with Bama and if you want balls to the wall go with a more aggressive tuner

I seriously have no issues with Bama, my car shifts smoothly and gained a ton of power up top. I was skeptical with running the ford performance 87mm TB with the GT350 CAI. The ford performance tune felt like it gained a little bit of power down low...but up top it sucked.... and it was shifting weirdly all over the place

I have used Bama on my 98 and 17 Mustangs. No problems. I liked them. Noticeable difference. But I cant say anything else because they are all I have ever used 😅
