That's me providing an example from a 2016 R identifying that Ford themselves state the R is 50-state legal on the window sticker.

The sad thing is, after spending all this time contacting dealers and wading through the BS I'm just tired of it all. Sure, I could continue to push the issue with this dealer and their emissions claim but I shouldn't have to do this after putting a deposit down and agreeing to an ADM! If this continues to go south I'll no doubt provide the dealer information to everyone.

Sorry to hear about all of the problems you are having, I lucked out and found a local dealer who sold me a 2017 350 at MSRP. Like you I attempted to find an R but was tired of the BS so settled for a standard 350. (I had several dealers say they would sell it to me at 5-10k over then at the last second pulled out)

Like anywhere it depends on the dealer, my dealer in the bay area sold 6 R's for MSRP but I know of a lot of dealers who have sold R's for 100k+

Yep. Especially if he was doing courtesy delivery. Zero difference between any of the cars made, it would have been built and delivered to CA just as if it were ordered from a CA dealer

And as others have mentioned, plenty have already bought/registered out of state cars here in CA (me being one of them)

Amazing they used 4 bullet points to peddle their complete bullshit about emissions. I would forward that email to Deysha ASAP and call them on their bullshit

Here is the CA dmv website, 100% contradictory to what the dealer emailed. 50 state means exactly as its stated, complies to all state and federal guidelines.

Fully agree that Ford lets its dealers run amuck and do whatever the heck they want. It's inexcusable, especially if Ford wants to elevate itself above the American competition. I'm so glad to have navigated the waters for my cars, but having done it, ordering from a Ford dealer is not something I would recommend to anybody that doesn't love pain and frustration.

While I agree to an extent - I doubt Ford wants dealers telling people that their cars are less than they are...saying that they are not 50-state emissions legal and peddling that to customers as an excuse to get out of a deal...I'd hope...would get Fords attention.
