Recently, the bavkup camera, at night is showing a black and white image as opposed to the color image. It's somewhat sporadic. Sometimes I get a good color image and sometimes a b&w.

Anyone else have this issue?

That is weird. I haven't gotten that issue, but the issue that I just experienced last weekend was when I was up at Fontana dam, and I did a donut and then when I wanted to back it into a parking spot, the reverse camera wasn't coming on at all. After we went for a drive and I backed in somewhere, it worked fine as has been since...

The camera itself is going out. I had it happen on my '15 GT. Camera was replaced under warranty, no issue since.

Have camera problem with my 2014 Explorer. Lots of You Tube advice on how to deal with it. Mine works about 1/3 of the time but when it does the picture is perfect which might indicate it's not the camera but the connection in the tailgate. Apparently there are replacement cameras available for under $100. Ford service told me it's a $600 job. I'm going to watch one of the You Tube videos and take it apart, fool around with the connection, then give it a try. Doesn't look like a big job.

Not the camera, the wiring in the trunk.

The b & w issue is only at night. And only sometimes. During the day, no issues with the color. I wonder if there's just not enough ambient light, but the tail lights should put off enough red to show up.

at night it just looks black and white. Both my mustangs have always done that. It looks almost like an infrared picture (but its not)

Maybe it does just looks black and white. And it does look a little like night vision. And I could be getting enough ambient light when I'm backed into the garage as opposed to when I pull in. I'll have run some testing later.
