I'm curious how this will fit under the hood. Yesterday I removed my stock voodoo intake to trial fit the cobra jet intake and it hits big time. The cobra jet intake is about 9-1/2" tall compare to the voodoo 6" tall from the gasket surface to top of intake. Our hoods are lower behind the hood vent.

It will supposedly fit under the stock but it's gonna be tight. We'll be the first to install one on a GT350 so we'll report back once we install the kit. It was shipped today so we'll have it after the holiday.

Good luck guys. I hope it clears for you. The cobra jet intake is 9-9-1/2" tall. 3" taller then stock. How tall is the Whipple? The problem I had with the cobra jet was near the hood vent. Even lowering motor mounts wouldn't help.

On another posting, Whipple says that on the S550 GT 5.0 a 1-1/4" is needed to clear the hood and a 2" cowl hood or rise is minimal for engine movement. Our hoods and core support are lower and I'm thinking would require more height on the hood. When I fitted the cobra jet intake it needed about the same room as the intake hit the hood near the hood vent.

Nobody at this time that I'm aware of makes a hood and I'm not interested in a different hood as of now because I like the looks of the stock hood. But if I were to install a new hood it would be made of carbon fiber and possibly left unpainted on my magnetic gt350. I'd have to see a rendering of one first. But I do know I don't want a cowl hood.

We run a Whipple on our 2015 GT and it fits under the stock hood with no issues.

We'll confirm fitment on the Shelby once the blower arrives late next week.

I've never really been a fan of gray... I also never thought I'd like a non-metallic gray... But when I saw an avalanche gray w/blue stripes in person I almost wanted to trade my car in...lol. It is by far the best looking gt350 I have seen (and I have seen all of the color combinations in person). Good luck with the install!

Based on the CAD drawings that Whipple has it's gonna be very close but should fit. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Before you start tearing into it you should bring it out to Bradenton this weekend and get some baseline runs in!
