I'm not quite sure how to interpret your reply but my whole point of the above message is I'd be looking for a GT500 quality build that is designed to be abused at the track. Same thing as a the 350 @526hp. The above post was intended to mean I'd want more HP if I knew it could handle abuse of track use.
not sure why its hard to interpret....not trying to be snarky or anything.........i’d absolutely throw a whipple on mine if i could keep the stock strut brace.....but the gt350 is already maxed out cooling wise for the track. Thats why gt500 has massive coolers and openings. i think if i wanted any more power out of this already amazing engine id go e85......or buy a gt500.

Oh for sure I’d agree with you on that.

I'd agree with both of you if the 500 came with a manual transmission!!!!! That's why I bought a 350 and added the whipple. Installed the whipple in late summer and only got to put 2600 on it. Haven't made it to the track yet but not babying it on the street either. Stock opg and cam sprocket still, just always make sure oil is up to temp before maximizing revs, so far so good

are you running the canned Whipple tune and also what gas? and you take it to redline frequently?

Gen 5 stage 2 3.0l whipple with there tune. After oil reaches temp, have no worries going to 8000rpm, at least for the first 3 gears.

Sorry as far as fuel goes running 93 octane with ethanol defense. Whipple told me 93 w/10% ethanol was better than 91w/o ethanol. Looking to find VP street blaze which is 100+ octane. They told me the more octane the better for the knock sensors

what's the current reputation of whipple's tune? or procharger's tune?
As far as I can tell, whipple tune is on the conservative side vs some of the other guys tunes. I'm sure there is more power left on the table so to speak, but over 800rwhp still puts a smile on my face everytime I hit the throttle. Time will tell if I'll ever feel the need for more. Not sure at what point you will lose streetablity and longevity

Just cracked 37k miles, 20k of it has been with the Whipple. Take care of her and she'll take care of you.

Preventative maintenance is key. Along with a solid tune.

I’ve looked into it and it’s definitely a piece I would love to add, but not for $3400. You’ll need a 10-rib kit, and alternator relocation kit. It’s just way too expensive at the moment IMO.

...but! They just mentioned a 6-rib kit will be offered very shortly, so I’m waiting for that to be introduced with pricing. If it’s what I’m thinking, the price should be $850 and nothing more to add.

Was just curious on which tune you are using? Stock whipple or something from a tuner shop?

With the E85 and bolt-ons you would likely be pushing over 500-rwhp. All the while not adding weight in the worst possible place or stressing the motor with forced induction.

This is how I started. With longtubes, E85, and a Tune my car made 522rwhp/395tq. It was a good balanced combo.
