What do you need to do to ensure a tight seal between the WMG shifter and the manual boot?

this is where you get a little creative... I used part of the broken collar of the shift boot, and wedged it between the base of the WMG and the two bolt black "ring" .. others have used things like a plastic bottle cap...

Kind of hard to explain, but see the first post... or go the the larger thread on this...

Are you using the zip tie to create enough mass so the top of the boot doesn't pass through or tuck the boot material into itself and ziptie that around the shifter?

I did it the way bill from cjponyparts did for the hurst auto shifter install demo.

Wish I took a picture of it but it is similar to the water bottle cap. I basically zip tied the top of the boot to the shaft of the shifter leaving a bit of a lip after the zip tie. When you invert it the shifter boot folds over the tie and it looks just like how the rest looks like. Yeah I suck at explaining by text. Just watch that hurst shifter install.

Ok that makes sense, easy to solve for with glue or a zip tie (or both for an extra secure fit).

No idea what the bottle cap method is alluding to though, lol.

Just got my brushed shifter from WMG. The top of it wasn't completely blended in with the rest of the finish. There's some dents/imperfections that are also semi-visible.

Is this me nitpicking or are these minor cosmetic issues common?
