Ferrari gave up on manual transmissions years ago. There's a reason for that, and there is a reason Ferrari has been one of the most dominant and ultimate sports cars for decades.
It's something called 'image' for the Ferrari buyer, and catering to their clientele for Ferrari.

Most Ferrari buyers don’t have to worry about “image”. It’s the wannabe rich that have image problems. I spent about 17 years living in Santa Barbara County, CA and learned a lot about what real wealth was. Now we’re getting too far off topic.

I suspect we're looking at different aspects of 'image'. The wannabes would be using the Ferrari as evidence of their "having arrived", which is completely separate from the "my car uses the latest/fastest-shifting race car technology" factor that exists at both levels.
