I just sold my PP wheels today. Now I have the lug nuts left over. Are they worth anything?

On ebay they seem to be selling for between $15 and $20 for 5. If people buy 20 at a time and they are worth a few bucks it might be worth a few pics and an ad on here.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

No. OEM lug nuts are ass garbage. After enough use they will collapse and fail.
They collapse?? I've seen lug nuts that crack, strip, etc...but I can't say I've seen them collapse.

Any good use for them other than throwing them out? It'd be cool to use them as soda bottle caps but they're too small.

Thanks

Yup. They have a bright metal covering on them that's super thin and crushes with any torque. Toss 'em.

Not only that, but they seem to expand with heat and use. They used to work with my 21mm socket, but nowadays I'm having a tough time putting that on.. The nuts and sockets are all clean, but some don't really fit into the socket anymore while others slide on just fine.

Toss 'em.

So what's a good replacement for them? I haven't done any reading on this yet.

That's because the cover has bulged in various places. They should be 3/4", I believe, not 21mm. As the cover shifts and changes, it'll make getting sockets on much more difficult.

Gorilla lugs are great. I bought the set that's black, and each lug is a lock. You can get a standard set for like $40, or and entire set of locking lugs for about $100.

I forget the brand name on the box but when I ordered my SVE Drifts, it came with new lug nuts. They look identical to the Gorilla's...not sure if they are made by the same company.

I have a set from Gorilla and love them. Beat the piss out of them with my impact and no trouble. The finish is not perfect any longer but a significant improvement over stock.

I really hope they were never 3/4" aka 19mm because now the majority are perfectly fine with a 21mm some are a tight fit.

Wait, I was wrong. It was 13/16". I think my wife's Mercedes uses 3/4".
