The factory locks drove me batty because they stuck out so much farther. Looked like a loose lug nut. I bought Gorilla locking lugs for mine, but stayed with chrome to have some contrast.

If you can see a silver ring around your lug nut, take it off and get the right one. Many lugs nuts sold out there are tuner type lugs for aftermarket wheels. They have the same taper angle for the seat as OE, however they have significantly less surface area of engagement.

+1 on this. Makes a big difference on PP wheels.

Since we're posting pictures...

This was right after I painted my calipers with the G2 kit, and swapped the crappy stock lugs for Gorilla locking lugs.

Ironically I found black lugs that work on the factory wheels.

Bought mine locally at Discount Tire. They weren't Gorilla, paid like $40. They have been great.

I got those mini Gorilla ones from CJPP (i think), and they do leave a ring of exposed metal around the base of the lug nut... however once you have them for a while, brake dust/dirt/whatever covers that up. It's impossible to clean down in there obviously. So not a big deal. I love the look of mine.

There are two sets, one for aftermarket wheels (the ones you bought) and one for OEM wheels (the larger acorn style).

Yeah it didn't lay the two sets out like that specifically, but that is a pretty accurate statement. But the smaller ones were on sale, so I did that and I'm happy with them.

When you compare the two types of lug nuts side by side (I did) it is an OMG moment.
