I changed the usb hub and updated the software to version 3.0. When I plug my phone in the lighting cable nothing happens. Any recommendations?

Maybe try inserting a USB music device to see if you can play music off of that. If so, try using a different lightning cable to see if that works.

Possibly do a soft reset or if that doesn't work, a master reset on the Sync 3. Good luck.

This might be a dumb question... Do you have the CarPlay app installed on your phone?
I know people who have tried to use Android Auto on the car without having installed it on their phone.
I know there is also a switch in the settings screen to enable as well. Did you turn that on?

Me , no.
It was more so to check out/remind me to try the reset feature.

Ya I don’t have “airplay” in base 15’s ;(

CarPlay comes standard on all iPhones. No need to install it after setting it up. You just need to accept the connection the very first time you connect your phone to your headunit.

True. The only setup required is if you have wireless CarPlay.

Ah, ok. I wasn't sure. Never used an iPhone.

Apple products are usually designed for idiots, so I'm going to say there's a problem with the usb hub. Are you using the usb ports in the arm rest and is the usb in the dash connected ? And what's a lighting cable ?

Ok, can you use the Sync3 media player to access the playlists and music content on the iPhone? If yes, we know that the cable/hub is working.

if this is the case you need to check if CarPlay is enabled in the iPhone.
Settings —> General —> CarPlay

Yeah, what are your current Carplay Settings? You're connecting with a cable, yes?
